I definitely would go with Kath's recommendations as well, but a couple of other good ones are Hatha Yoga Illustrated and The Yoga Bible.

lol, might be what happened to mine too.

Rainbeau is different, to say the least. She says in one of her videos to let you bottox blossom or something weird like that. GenerallyI try to avoid blossoming if I can help it

Yes I admit it, I'm addicted to fitness. I guess I need a 12 step program or maybe just 12 good steps to jog up and down on

I love Rainbeau's practices, but try to tune her out most of the time. It's a good thing I am not too particular, because she says, "enjoy your breath" way too much! I really enjoy her 4 DVD set of sacred practices, so I can tolerate the babble for the most part.

David Swenson has a spiral bound one that shows the poses with and without modifications. It is nice because it is spiral bound so it lays flat. I am at work and don't remember the exact name.

It's an excellent book: Ashtanga Yoga, the Practice Manual. Great instruction and clear illustrations make it hard to beat as a practice aid.

I prefer the Iyengar books, since I'm not much attracted to Ashtanga : B.K.S. Iyengar's classic Light on Yoga (more appropriate for hard cores) and Mira Mehta's Yoga the Iyengar Way and (for women) Linda Sparrowe and Patricia Walden's Yoga for Women (and there are several others out recently, but none of them are spirals.

That is a great book too. I love Ashtanga Yoga.

You might like Yoga Your Way by Cindy Dollar. It has lots of poses and sequences you can mix and match. Good pointers, spiral bound, very versatile.
