These stories remind me of the 20kg (44lb) bags of bird seed I buy - they always offered to carry it to the car for me. My reply, as I hoisted it onto my shoulder, was always "Thankyou, but no. The sooner I accept your help, the sooner I'll need it." THEN I broke my shoulder - doing 180-turns at-speed on roller skates.

They're now 24, and both lift weights at the gym (though not as heavy as I do...yet). Those who CAN exercise well into their elder years often say "I just never stopped doing it, every day." To be able to say that, one needs to START doing it, EVERY DAY! ![]() To reduce the size of my butt, I need to reduce the size of my "But......" |

Congratulations, Linda! I love how exercise and strength training has brought back feats of strength in so many VFers!

![]() And AMD, whoohoo!! That bottled water isn't easy to deal with. When I once bought some for pick up at Target, the cashier asked if I needed a cart and I said no. I don't know what I was thinking! I carried it all the way to my car parked on the far end of the lot. LOL So now I now I can, but I won't do it again. Good work, all you strong ladies! And I absolutely agree with Donna's post, I exercise so that I can move and hopefully not have trouble lifting, squatting, etc now and especially when I'm older. |

Oh this post makes me so happy! I'm thrilled for you, Linda, and.... you give me so much hope. I've been thinking that I might never get over this sciatica or whatever it is (but I think that's probably it), but you make me think it's possible I will heal and be able to lift kitty litter, chicken feed, or whatever it is.
