October 2022 Add 'em up Goals & Habits Challenge ~Join us!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily habits work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

**Take this challenge however you wish. I used to total my points all the time but have fallen away from that and now just track my goals. There really are no rules, your challenge is your own, we're just here for support and to help each other with accountability. We would love to have you join us!

Vannie's October Goals

My focus this month is going to be establishing a reasonable and sustainable routine. I am so tired of feeling like I never get done the things I need to do or have guilt-free time to do the things I want. I have tons of time and am the decider of how I spend that time. I very much want to stop wasting it doing things that aren't even important to me like mindless internet time. I feel like I just wander through each day like time will never end. Time is a gift we are given and I need to be a better steward of it.

1. Get up no later than 7:30 AM on weekdays (EC for every 15 minutes before 7:30)
2. Go to bed no later than 11:30 PM (EC for every 15 minutes before 11:30)
3. Update sleep log
4. Seated meditation 5 days/week
5. Do FlyLady app daily mission
6. Start lunch no later than 1:30 PM
7. Take all supplements daily
8. Daily food logging in MFP (for nutrition info)
9. No eating after 10 PM
10. No seconds at supper 5x/week

11a. Mondays--laundry (if necessary), sweep/vacuum/clean floors, catch up on "me" stuff that slides on the weekends
11b. Tuesdays--clean kitchen, pull weeds (Monday and Tuesday may flip flop if hubby is home on his comp days)
11c. Wednesdays--clean bathrooms
11d. Thursdays--tidying/decluttering/purging, sweep/vacuum
11e. Fridays--clean other rooms (rotating each week)
11f. Saturdays--dust all rooms, clean/tidy basement
11g. Sundays--do workouts schedule/post for the week

12. PT strength exercises 2x/week as instructed
13. Weight training 2x/week
14. Run 2x/week
15. Do yoga 5x/week
16. Foam roll/ball massage 3 days/week
17. Thoracic mobility/stretch daily
18. Stretch calves at least once a day
19. Meet weekly minutes goals (10 pts--EC for every half hour beyond goal)
20. Before bed do goals check in and write in log
21. Check in workouts on forum
22. AM walk with Cyric on weekdays at least 2.5 miles (we have been way too lazy about walks for many months now)
23. No Halloween decorating or crafting till the day's chores and workouts are done!

Extra credit:
1. 7 hours of sleep (10 pts)
2. 20000 steps
3. Legs up the wall or waterfall
4. 5 miles a day with Cyric

Max possible points: 570 (18.4 avg pts/day)
Points goal (90%): 513 (16.5 avg pts/day)
Reward: personal satisfaction!

Oct 1-2 pts (out of avg 36) ~ %

Thirteen weeks left in the year. My goal is to do 13 weeks of Body Pump. I am going to do some modifications. We'll see how it goes. You know I have exercise ADD.

I'm in - September didn't go so well.
• exercise every day (dog walks count, but don't aim for just that)
• nutrition - we ALL know what that means!
• embroidery focus of an evening
• bed time reading Breath: The new science of a lost art, by James Nestor (highly recommended by Wim Hof)

Sat 1st -
• 90min dog walk, 130 bpm (Podrunner) [hospital with DH curtailed anything else - just scraped his head, not even stitches but thought it may need them]
• good, down 1.1lb
• yes, lots of leaves are now green
• no, left if upstairs & didn't bother to fetch it

Sun 2nd
• 60min dog walk, 130 bpm + 46min, The Firm - Total Muscle Shaping
• good, down 1.3
• yes, more leaf progress
• didn't read, but didn't putz on phone either (better than nothing)

Mon 3rd
• 47min, The Firm - Complete Body Sculpting
• not bad, but could have been better down 0.2lb
• more leaves done
• bed after midnight - daylight savings started past weekend - adjusting

Tue 4th
• 90min bush-walk with dog
• better, except for that ONE melting moment, static weight
• really solid on doing the embroidery now
• yeah... still not happening

Wed 5th

Count me in on not doing well in September.
October must be better!!!

Yesterday I rode my recumbent bike in Maine and did Jessica Valant Barre.

Somehow I missed this! Good luck with your rotation! I'm planning on CLX. Hey in like 2 months I think I managed 4 workouts!

I didn't make my goals for September either...the last week got hijacked in quite a few ways. lol. I plan on starting the October challenge on the 15th. It is just really busy for us right now workwise. I'm hoping the 15th will be realistic to get back with it.

MT and Vannie, your goals with Body Pump and CLX sound great!

See you all in a couple weeks!
