Tracie Long's workouts are the MOST for gliding discs! She does them better than anyone else in my opinion! LOVE them!

I love using mine. However, I have wood flooring, so they glide easily. I can see how it would be frustrating on carpet.

I like them, but I did have to buy a plush piece of carpet so they could work easily on my floor. Linda Wooldridge had a few gliding workouts for the lower body that I really enjoy.

Well, they aren't my favorite piece of equipment, that's for sure. I exercise on carpet and I find that the disks take some time to get used to. For me, it's feet/toes positioning on the disks. I hate it when they slip off my shoes. I have found the more I use them, the better I do. They really work my legs and core, but it seems like I tend to spend too much time positioning my shoes on the disk. I also strained my back muscles one time doing a plank and pulling my feet in. I like them better for standing leg work than core work.

Ditto! Exactly how I feel. A train wreck in the making.

Love them! When using it, make sure JUST the balls of your feet on the slide. Your heels should NOT be on the slide... Or you'll lose control.

Very interesting!
I'll have to try again following your instructions. I actually have a work out that came with my gliding discs. Maybe I will try that before attempting Cathe's Afterburn again.

Like many others, I like them for leg work, not so much for cardio. I only ever use one disc at a time, so while one leg is sliding, the other is planted FIRMLY on my carpet. I like the balance challenge they add to single-leg work, disc work keeps some pressure off my (bone-spur'd) big toe joint, AND I get great inner-thigh work on some disc exercises.

But jacks, alternating lunges, and other fast cardio moves with two discs? Not for me.
