2 days in a row now with no symptoms, which for me were congestion and fatigue. The Dr never called back. I waited nearly all day on Friday, called again close to 5:00 and finally got a call from his medical assistant who told me that the Dr wasn't in today, and what the CDC guidelines online say; and she said I need to continue quarantine for 5 days after cease of symptoms. I also exchanged emails with a church friend who is an RN w/ a master's degree and is the head of the local college's nursing school; she also said 5 days. Today on the zoom coffee hour (we're back to that after church on youtube), I asked if anyone could get me a test kit. I don't want to go test in person yet; DD ordered an amazon kit but that might not get here until Wednesday. Another church friend dropped a kit off this afternoon; I'll reimburse them with a kit in return after I get some. The gov't kits haven't been mailed out yet.
So I'm set to give myself a test tomorrow. My RN friend told me that it was very likely I would still get a positive result b/c it can take weeks to get a negative, and to keep the quarantine for the 5 days of no symptoms.
I'll take the test since I've got the kit. DD plans to stay at her boyfriend's for my quarantine, back on Thursday.

On Friday, before I got the test notification, I had a zoom singing lesson, and I was in good voice. I never had a sore throat from this; I've read reports of people saying that the omicron gave them a terrible sore throat that felt like strep.

So I've been knitting a lot, and missing DD.

Today I did Super Back Sculpt. It's beautiful and sunny, so I will walk later.

Cynthia, glad your symptoms are gone and that a friend was able to get you a test. My friend who got covid while traveling over a few weeks ago was also frustrated by not getting a negative for a few days. Here in Europe the rule and advice is that you are free to do whatever as soon as you get a negative. Then they have a digital recovery certificate here, which people can get by testing their antibodies, and it takes the place of any booster or shot for six months. The bonus is that everyone feels somewhat invincible (within a pandemic) once they recover, with the worst over, to be both safe for them and everyone around them. So hopefully you will feel that way too! Sorry you are missing your DD and hoping the time passes quickly!

Diana, glad the storm was not bad!

Lynn, people were posting in the comments under that HIIT workout that it was the hardest one Heather has ever done. I do not frequent the HIIT section, so that was crazy to read. This rotation will be one and done for me, but I'll revisit some of the strength workouts in the future because they are good.

Linda, how is the weather where you are?

Negative!!!

Yay! Happy Dance!

This was actually over before I knew it --

Jan 13 - sample to virus geeks
Jan 19 - another sample to virus geeks since I feared they had lost the one from 13th

Jan 21 - the 13th tested positive

Jan 24 - I used the home test kit = negtive
Jan 24, a few minutes later - the 19th tested negative

Well all right then!

barre 3 30 minutes and yoga class on Zoom (which was restorative day).

Cynthia, glad that is over and done with. What a relief! Nice you got a home test. DH managed to get some home tests, but so far only DS has used one and DH has had his done at the hospital drive up. He managed to avoid the two hour lines, but my friend got stuck in that line with two two-year olds in the car (and they were all sick), so that sounded like a nightmare. Glad you are negative and all better. Still take it easy getting back to normal.

Cheryl, so impressed that you did the hardest Heather HIIT ever. Hats off to you!

Diana, hoping all your friends safely recover soon from Covid. Definitely hearing about a lot of it going around here. I am lucky that I can just stay home myself, but worry about DH. But his Dr. is pretty confident that his shots will stand him in good stead. Thanks for your prayer for all of us, will send more back to everyone as well.

Linda, sending thoughts your way as well.
