Just started Set the Night on Fire by Robby Krieger (guitarist for The Doors) and really like it so far.

Erica, thank you for posting. It made me smile. My husband Frank would have pre ordered autographed copies of both those books. (there is a website that offers them). He met Elvira at a fan convention years ago. The autographed picture is hanging in our laundry room of all places! He never met Robby Krieger, but he did meet John Densmore when he gave a lecture at The College of NJ years ago. I may see if my library has the Robby Krieger book. Frank's autographed copies of John Densmore's book that came out last year arrived after he passed. I gave one to a friend who loves the Doors .

Robby Krieger is currently touring. It really hurts that he is playing at one of our favorite theaters on Halloween, Frank's favorite holiday.

Lol! My mom hung her autographed poster of George McGovern in our laundry room, saying that it would take up too much wall space in the family room and looked odd but she still wanted to see it.

I like that! We have to be the only people with a Robert DeNiro autograph in their laundry room! My husband wrote to request autographs for over thirty years. It is a great collection.

Aw, big big hugs to you Sherry about the Halloween concert. I'll be thinking of you on Halloween - I didn't know it was Frank's favorite holiday.

Robby's book is really good so far. I keep thinking of you as I'm reading it. If I had my own copy, I'd send it to you when I'm done but I am borrowing from the library.

That is funny about the Elvira picture in the laundry room. I bet it has such a different meaning to you now with Frank being gone.

I keep my dad's ashes in the laundry room. He's been gone for 7 years and I haven't decided where to scatter them. They make me happy there - it's the only room that is basically all mine and I spend a lot of time in there. I feel like he'd approve and would rather be there with me for now.

Rivercat - that is hilarious about the McGovern poster!

I'm reading The Wish by Nicholas Sparks. It has been good. I tried Michelle Major's The Magnolia Sisters and gave up on it. It was just too formulaic for me. Next, I'll start The President's Daughter Is Missing by Clinton and Patterson.

I didn't realize that there was a new Outlander coming out; it feels like a criticism of my abandoning the series.

I’m looking forward to this! I’ve already preordered it! This is the series that started my months-long binge-reading through all the Sherlock books/short stories.

Also coming out November 2:
YA author Garth Nix is releasing a prequel to the Old Kingdom (Abhorsen) series. I hope it’s good! I’ve also preordered that one, lol. (It’s called Terciel & Elinor.)

I just put my name on the Library request list for the new Outlander book and I was the first one to do so

I just finished reading Beneath A Scarlet Sky, by Mark Sullivan. A well researched book that takes place in Italy during WWII. Very intense at times, due how cruel humans can be to each other, but glad I read it.
