uh oh

I think if I do a fearless physical inventory that I might start agreeing with my husband that I have too much stuff. So, don't let THAT happen!

It's all at home and I'm not, so lets see how I can do.

*pairs of free weights up to 20 pounds. Why the 1's and 2's are still in there escapes me.

*a Firm fanny lifter

*a home-size step. I SO want to lose this and get a club-size step.

*yoga mats (do I have to say how many I have????. It's at least 3, and I think 4.)

*a yoga strap and block set -that I thought I would hate and don't

*Dynabands

*a ballet barre

*a weight bench with a rack for bench presses. This really belongs to my son, but he's at college.

*barbell and weight plates

*ankle weights with the little weight dowels

*weight gloves that I never use

* There's a rebounder in the basement. I never use it.

* a stability ball

* a dowel

If we get started on outdoor cycling stuff, this list will never end. I gave away my heart rate monitor; it just wasn't helpful to me. I think that's it.

My organization system is very clever. Martha Stewart should hire me. It's all on the floor over in a corner. VERY scenic

So Fortunate…

…to have a workout room. It’s my first – such a nice change from years of exercising in the living room. It’s only 10x9 though, and is packed full.

To the inventory – in order of importance.

Shelving containing all dvds, videos, dvd player.
Television with internal vcr, mounted a wall.

· Treadmill
· Six sets dumbbells – range from 2 to 15 lbs
· Weight bench with leg extensions and fly weights.
· Barbell and plates
· Dumbbell rack (best purchase ever)
· 9lb and 18 lb body bars
· Yoga sticky mat
· Yoga block
· Yoga strap
· Stability Ball
· 3 dynabands
· Resist a Ring
· Step
· Ankle weights (the only equipment never used)

Question for Suzanne

Suzanne, how much did the Schwinn spinning bike cost?
I got the Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer and I've never used it, its such a pain in the nether regions to get the bike on it, and then it doesnt feel right. I am considering selling it, the sucker cost $300 new.

my turn

Hypothetical question...how many of these would I have if I hadn't been hanging out here for the past few years?

Step Co. step (doubles as weight bench)
Stability ball (actually bought this years ago for physical therapy)
Dumbbells from 3 to 20 lbs.
Barbell and plates (holiday gift from husband!)
Rebounder
Ankle weights 3, 5 and 10 lbs sets
Firm Fanny Lifter
Exercise tubing
Karen Voight Green Genies two sets
Pilates ring
Yoga mat

Maybe we should post a workout challenge week where the goal is to use all your workout toys in one week!

I live in a small, 3rd-floor apartment, which isn't the best place to be a fitness video nut, but I've made the best of it. I work out in my living room. Most of my bigger toys (step, tall box) are out on the balcony, which is adjacent to the living room, and in the corner out of view. My living room is roughly one grapevine wide. I can't fit a couch in it (I have a love seat instead) because otherwise I couldn't walk into the room. No room for a coffee table. We're talking tiny. Before I work out, I push the love seat backwards toward the dining room.

In the balcony corner
The smaller/non-plastic items are in footlockers.
sports equip: tennis rackets, tennis balls, basketball, baseball gloves, baseballs, 2 bats
hydration belt for hiking
resist-a-ring
yoga stuff: straps, blocks, thick yoga mat with aztec design
2'x6'x2" folding blue gym mat (for stretching)
speed jumprope
rubber tubing
tiny dumbbells: 2, 3, 4# pairs
ankle weights: 2½, 5# pairs
full-size step
fanny lifter

On the fireplace hearth
All nicely organized in an eclectic Suzanne sort of way.
dumbbells: 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25# pairs
plate mates
medicine balls: 4, 10#
green genies

Hidden in the corner between bookcase & TV
barbell: goes to 65# max although the most I use is 60#
slip lock collars

Bookcase
Besides books . . .
100+ fitness DVDs
100+ VHS tapes
several Yoga CDs
weight-lifting gloves
heart rate monitor
binder w/ my Access video info printouts, chaptering info, and weights sheets

Entertainment center
big TV
DVD player (single-disc, alas)
VCR (brand new - my old one died last week!)

In computer/library room
swiss ball (often used as chair)

Dining Room
dining room chair (used for sit and stands - I'm tallish)

Floating around the house and can never find them
Size 11 Sasquatch shoes!
aerobics shoes: 2 pairs of Rykä Supra (alternated for longer life; used for all video workouts)
running shoes: Asics Gel Kayano (currently used as walking shoes since the cushioning is shot)

Bedroom
cheap workout attire from Target
FoxRiver running socks - love 'em!!

I'm pretty sure that's it. Next week I can add to that the "sculpting stick" from the FIRM kit, although I can't imagine I'll have any use for it, but they wouldn't let me order the DVD without it.

What I "need":
BOSU

I now have a BOSU DVD and no BOSU. How's that for insanity?

Maybe one day:
body bars

Zero desire for:
stepper gadgets
gadgets to work thighs, abs, etc.
rebounder
