Best books about fitness, health, exercise?

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if you all could share some of your best/favorite books about fitness and exercise and health? Not how-to books, but something more along the lines of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain, or even Cameron Diaz's LONGEVITY book or "This Is Your Do-Over"?

There are always tons of fad diet books out there but I don't ever seem to see as many that talk about fitness or health.

Any suggestions would be great

This is not a fitness book per se, but it may be one of the most inspiring books in which fitness plays an integral part that I've read: Raising the Barre: Big Dreams, False Starts, and My Midlife Quest to Dance the Nutcracker by Lauren Kessler. Oh so much fun to read about her quest to get in shape and not just dance the Nutcracker, but to join a regional touring company and dance the Nutcracker multiple times. She's a Barre3 girl, so that figures as a major component in her fitness journey.

That sounds great Carol! Thank you for sharing. Any other books like this would be awesome to know about as well!!

Now that I think about it, I do believe I saw a book about Simone Biles at Target the other day. She competed in the Summer 2016 Olympics in gymnastics. I bet that one might be a good read too.

I enjoyed that book. I've never seen The Nutcracker.

I'm not a Nutcracker fan either, but I think it was her age and her dream to dance in the Nutcracker despite her age that made it such an enjoyable book for me. The fact that she was just an ordinary person and not a professional dancer either was inspiring. I need to read it again! I truly hated for it to end.

I liked Spark. I also liked The First 20 Minutes: Surprising Science Reveals How We Can Exercise Better, Train Smarter, Live Longer by Gretchen Reynolds.

Do you think if a person is not into ballet/dance it would still be interesting?
