When I started working out regularly (3 years ago this January), I bought a couple of exercise journals but they were so specific without much room for notes. They just didn't work for me.
Luckily I found Daytimer's Flavia weekly appointment calendar and it's worked well for my needs. It's a standard notebook size so there's lots of room. And it's an easy-to-handle spiral bind with the month on one spread followed by the weeks, one week per spread. The weekly pages are good for listing out my workouts and the monthly spread is good for seeing how my month is progressing.
I also list "rest" and "sick" days along with other health notes.
The streaming colors and ultimate workout journal sound very intriguing though. I'll have to check them out for 2006.
