Thanks, Alta! I'm going to look for the Omron one. I know Walmart used to carry the brand, but I can't remember which model they had.

I've been through 4 or 5 pedometers and found the results in Consumer's reports to be pretty good. The Sportlines worked for a few months and then some sort of internal mechanism, which is supposed to be a benefit and not count jiggling made them not work anymore.

I also had one from Radio Shack which was recommended, but not the top pick that worked very well. My daughter played with it one too many times and messed up the digital display. But it was much more accutrate than the sportsline over time. Women's Day magazine had a special, with Radio Shack on these earlier this year.

I don't have the exact model from Omron that was in the review (Healthcare HJ-112), but I do have an Omron HJ-105, and don't have any complaints about it. The only time it's been inaccurate were when I did things that it warned against in the user's manual, like clipping it on crooked.
