The ICE series is definitely not as difficult as most of RWH, so you should make your decision based on how difficult you want the workouts to be. For example, there is a Plyo Hiit dvd in RWH that makes me cringe just thinking about because of all of the high impact moves.

In ICE, there is some impact, but it is fairly easy to modify down to a more intermediate level. Hope that helps.

I was waiting until I'd done every last bit of a workout in this series. My verdict is: KEEPER! I'm more than halfway through the Level Three rotation, which I have been able to follow to a T thanks to having a work break. This rotation requires a LOT of time, as you do the main routine, the blizzard blast, AND the muscle meltdown, plus occasionally one of the Icy Cores. I seriously doubt that many people have 90 free minutes to work out. But I have found that I've enjoyed all the workouts. I think for every one, I've enjoyed it more the second or third time I've done it. I had been slacking a bit on weight-training, so this has been a real change for me, since almost every workout has some form of weights in it. I don't know what level of exerciser I am ... I'd say fairly advanced given my age (62). I don't have any problems with high-impact and I haven't followed many of the modifications except to lower the step height in some, but not all, of the workouts.

Hilary, how does ICE compare to Xtrain, intensity and fun-wise? Would they play well together?

I'm not Hilary, but I love ICE and XTrain together. I'm doing a weekly rotation with ICE, RwH and XTrain. Rotate and repeat.

ICE is awesome (but xTrain is my favorite)

I like XTrain a lot too, and even did the 90-day undulating XTrain rotation. I think XTrain is definitely more intense, especially Hard Strikes and Tabatacise. The biggest difference, I think, is that ICE doesn't have any workouts focusing solely on strength-training particular body parts. Instead, ICE has the muscle meltdowns and then weights mixed in with many compound moves. And of course there's no floorwork workout in XTrain. I think they would make a great combination and I'll probably do that soon after I finish the Level 3. Really, I'm a fan of most of Cathe's later series (didn't click with Low Impact as much, except for Turbo Barre).

Cathe has ventured into modifier territory before. I think it was her Pure Strength series. There was an "older" woman (Pat?) who did modifications.

Oh that's right. Pat was a personal trainer. I met her on a Cathe trip.

I did Cathe's original bootcamp today. I did the everything, but core premix followed by the ICE Boot Camp Circuit Blizzard and then finished with bootcamp core premix.

I haven't done the original bootcamp in a long time, but dare I say that I found it to be more of an intermediate workout. Granted it is high impact, but I didn't find it advanced. I wish Cathe would come out with a new bootcamp similar to the Blizzard blast from the Ice bootcamp workout.

I consider myself low-intermediate and this is my first Cathe set. I really like all of the workouts! I'm not intimidated by any of them and feel I have room to advance with them.
