I love quick Callanetics, especially the hips and behind one :-) makes it easy to target areas. I do them on my own sometimes without the DVD.

If you really like the Bar Method Super Sculpting workout but time is the issue, could you just split it up into two workouts, each a half hour long? That way, you still get to do the workout you really like.

I love AM/PM Callanetics! This is the one I started with and it is the perfect length with good instruction. The PM one I find so relaxing.

That's a great idea. The pace and vibe of The Bar Method is very similar to Callanetics.

Well, I'll be a dissenter b/c I could not stand Callanetics. I though they were dreadfully boring and a wee bit weird. But I loved Bar Method.

Suzanne Bowen's Barre Amped dvd is great. It's LONG but chaptered into shorter workouts. I have been using segments of it here and there and they have great form pointers and very focused/calm.

So you know all the claims Callan makes for her workouts? Do you think if I did OTHER similar style workouts it would have the same results? I think doing Callanetics all the way through all the time would be really boring but if I do 20 minutes here and there or just a few exercises here and there I think it'd still be good...
I love Barre Amped and I love the sections. I did the Bootcamp and was so pooped by the time the Core section came around I saved that for another day. Also her Tone, Tighten, and Torch workout was a good one, and I saved the cardio section for another day when I only have 20 minutes.

Alison, do you have both Barre Amped DVDs or are you referring to just the original one (not Boot Camp)?
ETA - Is it necessary to get both? Are the workouts - and levels - sufficiently different?

Focused/calm works great for me but Suzanne's workouts have been hit or miss with me. These do look good, though.

This is the first time I have clicked with Bowen -- I was surprised.
I have both of the Barre Amped dvds but haven't mustered up the courage to try Boot Camp.

I was using the original, 2-3 sections at a time, pretty often a few weeks ago... but then I got Powerfit Harmony in the mail and I've done it exclusively for the past 2 weeks (so any specifics are getting a little rusty in my mind...)
I just know that I was really liking it and finding it do-able (even though I'm restarting now).

You reminded me of something that I did years ago (probably 15 years ago). I thought Super Callanetics was super tough and it would be difficult to do the whole thing at once. So I would do sections everyday so that I averaged doing SC once a week. I kept the same rotation but I swear that I lost inches and pounds by adding these few sections everyday. I did the same thing with BodyFlex and T-Tapp at one point.

ETA - To make this post relevant to the OP, since you like those particular Bar Method DVDs, you could split up the workouts as some VFers suggested.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. It seems so silly to me that I didn't think to break up the Bar Method Super Sculpting DVD. I will also take a look at the Barre Amped workouts.
