I'm in! Will come up with my goals later.
ETA - I've added my goals to my signature.

Hmm, by "boxed sets" do you mean those BB series? If you buy 6 BB sets that each have a dozen DVDs that's 72 DVDs... not so bad!

I'm in, too. One every two months sounds doable to me also. Same rules apply - trading doesn't count, thrift shops or dollar stores don't count. Time frame, I just hope I can manage for the whole year

I'm going radical. My goal is to not acquire, in any fashion, any new workouts for the first 6 months of 2011. In fact, I intend to go through my collection and reduce it down to what I actually use and like. Wish me luck -- lots and lots of it.

I'm in for the year! I really need to eradicate my small but annoying debt in 2011, so this is one way to start.

I vow to not buy a single new exercise DVD in 2011. Really.

Exclusions:
- thrift store/used store sale finds don't count
- trades don't count
- buying DVDs for my secret santa giftee next season doesn't count

I'm in. I'm going to do the slow/wise buying cause I know I'll have a few workouts I will buy as 2011 goes on.

But I really want to work through the large amounts of virgin workouts I've gotten this year. That will take me a while.

I'll join. I had already planned on buying one new DVD every other month--but it had to be something I really wanted. So six was my magic number. However, I may be interested in some of the new Urban Rebounding DVDs so i may just up that to 10.

I'm not off to a good start, am I?

I'm definitely in! I was WAY too irresponsible in 2010! I will be doing a Slow Buying Challenge. My goals are:

1) To buy AT MOST 12 dvds this year.
2) To NOT reacquire anything I've bought and gotten rid of/sold in the past. If it's gone, it's gone. I've wasted FAR too much money that way.
3) Any extra dvds will have to come from gift cards, birthday money, etc...

The ugly truth is I bought 46 dvds last year that I can remember. Mary has a terrible function on her website where you can review your orders for the past year. Not all were from her, so I also went to Amazon and through my checkbook. I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but 46 is bad enough to admit.

OK, here are my rules.

1. To go as long as I can in 2011 without buying a new dvd. Personal pride is at stake, so I'm hoping to go several months.

2. Kelly Coffey Meyer's new 30 minute workouts are exempt from the challenge. I wonder if I could just send her money now ....

3. Trades and purchases at thrift stores and rummage sales are also exempt.

4. Accountability to be posted in signature.

Alright, back with my goals:

1. No purchases or trades AT ALL in January, but longer if I can do it.
2. Beginning February -- allowing myself to buy 1 dvd/month and 2 trades/month.

NOW FOR THE BIG QUESTION:
Who's got some purchases planned for these last 2 weeks of December, in anticipation for the 2011 no-buy?!? I have a couple of things I might knock out...(Essentrics Arms/Abs/etc is on my might-buy list...)

Oh, I really like your #3 and will add that to my rules.

Rose, I agree about thrift store finds! That was going to be one of my rules, too.
