I felt at first this wouldnt be enough cardio but the weight training definitely has a cardio effect. I read to try the "less is more" approach from a site someone here recommended. This 5 day a week rotation is one I took off their website. I changed it a bit, took out a circuit and replaced it with the steady state cardio. It also didnt specify what to do on the weights day, alternating btwn splits and total body was my idea. I like switching things up just for variety. At first I was doing almost all RWH exclusively and just felt run down and eventually was over training and gaining weight. I took a few days off, scaled back the number of days and the intensity and started seeing the scale move! It's also easier to cut cals a bit with less intense workouts. I feel my energy is now better and I'm dabbling again with RWH as "plateau busters" instead of doing them on their own for an extended rotation. So far it's working and my mental health is better for it too!!

It's working so well for me! Usually I do something of Zuzka's but modified to 20-30 minutes (I particularly love her pistol squats and kettlebells workouts). Melissa Bender has tons of bodyweight HIIT routines on her website, too. For HIIT, I prefer written rather than follow along workouts. I choose my own music and just go.

I've gotten my best results from Classic Firms and Physique 57. I found both those programs had a good mix of strength training and cardio for me, which I think played a role. I also thoroughly enjoy both! It was not difficult for me to stay consistent because I loved the workouts so much.

Of course, results don't happen in a vacuum. When I was doing Classic Firms, I had the advantage of youth on my side! And it was the first time I got really serious about exercise.

I started doing Physique 57 exclusively when I was pp with my second child and I was in a very tough place, physically. Within a month, I experienced significant healing from injuries and dramatically increased strength and general well-being, in addition to aesthetic results. I was not unfit by any means at that point, but I was worn out and burned out and exhausted. This is largely why I love P57 so much!

I also got into great shape about 8-10 years ago by designing my own rotation, a hybrid of many different methods/instructors. But I had a lot more time on my hands then, so that helped.

I am thinking of Fe Fit starting in March. I received the set in a trade this fall. I was thinking about doing the 90 day plan as it allows for flexibility of adding on other workouts on the "off" days. It may be a good way for me to get through some of my long standing virgin workouts - Fe Fit on scheduled days, at least one or two virgins a week on the off days.....

I also like that the Fe workouts are only 30 minutes - I tend to need to add a lot of "therapy" to my workouts in the form of Classical Stretch or Jill Miller - so this timeframe workouts great for me.

The kitten in my avatar is my foster fail Gus. He was 1/2 a pound when I got him, all spitfire and fleas (he hissed at me when I first pulled him out of the box). I bathed him and had to force feed him formula to get him to eat anything. I was so worried I would lose him. When he lived despite it all and purred for the first time while I held him, I knew I could never part with him. He sleeps with me and sits on my lap purring every morning. I must have had 30 kittens go through my life this year (i manage the Save A Kitten San Jose Facebook page), but he stood out. Way more than you wanted to know, but...
Not at all .....I can talk about fur babies 24.7...I have a new baby too Bullet, he's 7 months now....love of my life, we think he's part Bengal tiger.
