I finished Hush by James Patterson and Candice Fox last week. It was quite good. Reminds me of a Bruce Willis movie -- action packed with a lot of acerbic banter between the characters.

I started to new books: The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy and Liberation by Thich Nhat Hanh and This Might Hurt by Stephanie Wrobel.

The former is quite deep and thought provoking so I only read a chapter a day. I'm thinking I may return it to the library and buy my own copy (once my spending freeze is lifted) since it's one that will take me a while to read and digest and is a book I would want to add to my collection since I can see me referring to it often.

I read half of the latter book last night and find it a bit confusing as it's hard to figure out the characters. I'm hoping it will all come together at the end and I'll have an 'ah ha' moment rather than wondering WTHeck was that all about!?!?

I think it's her newest book. I was surprised to see one by her I hadn't read because it has been a while since I've seen anything new by her.

I finished French Braid and I enjoyed it as I do every Anne Tyler novel, but there was one character I hated, which was a different experience for me. I am now going to catch up on my ridiculous stack of magazines that I've been neglecting.

Lately I haven't been able to connect with any fiction so am reading A True History of the United States. It's written by a combat veteran and former history teacher at West Point. It's interesting to learn the motivations and mind sets of folks who came before us.

For those who enjoy true life memoirs, I just finished a very good one - North to Paradise by Ousman Umar. It's a quick, easy read about the chronicles of Ousman's underground refugee journey from Ghana to the life he dreamed of in Europe.

Thank you! I ordered it from our library.

Just finished two books I really enjoyed. Revolutionary Road and Who Says You're Dead? Medical & Ethical Dilemmas for the Curious & Concerned. Started Molly Shannon's new memoir. I barely know who she is but it is good so far.
