Hello!

Mickey12 - TA's mini-trampoline workout was on YouTube briefly. Her non-cuing is a bother. I found a clip:

Tracy Anderson Mini-Trampoline

I still have her mat workout DVD. I couldn't stand any of her others that I tried.

bee - are you feeling any better?

cataddict - glad the lidocaine patch helped. I hate to take many pills as they bother my stomach.

Chele - I'm no cook, so I'm just eating the cherries as snacks. A better woman would make a pie or something, LOL!

manleym - I hope to get to Charleston someday!

Workouts
Wednesday: Spinervals Flexible Warrior Foam Rolling
Thursday: JB Berns' Freedom Restoration (aka Rehab Your Body at Home). I did the Foot/Ankle and Full Body routines. He's a strange guy, but these are good routines.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

So I decided to tackle the lawn since we have a few things to get done this weekend. Last two times I wore my Apple Watch to get an idea of how long it takes and how hard I’m working. Both times it took about 90 minutes and my heart rate averaged in the 120s.

Hoping to catch up on everyone’s posts later this evening.

Hey all!!

Nice to hear about your vacation, manleym. I'd been anxiously awaiting that report -- sounds like the perfect blend of "touristy places" + family time. Bummer about the breakdown that should have been avoided, but yes, good that it wasn't worse than what it was. I haven't yet rescheduled my shingrix vaccine. I figure it may be a while until they're ready to tackle non-covid things. I sort of wonder if I should ask if I can get it done at my doctor's office. It's probably easier to get in there these days!

Kim, so funny about Tracy's trampoline workout. I admire your ability to walk in 80 degrees. I am such a heat wimp! I have to go in the early morning cooler hours (or not at all!) this time of year, though today was a crazy day for us, never getting much above 60. I've had my jacket on all day long.

Chele, happy belated birthday to "Mr. Chele". I'm glad he's feeling a bit better -- or at least walking a little straighter! Sounds like your lawn workout is a pretty good one!! I did watch the game -- great fun! My son said they would win before it even began and I didn't say it out loud but I thought "don't jinx it!". Tough to be the home team and lose in that situation.

Oh, was it manleym who said hubby sees the facebook info from Cathe Live? That cracked me up!

Vintage, in my opinion, you're eating the cherries the best way possible. Mmmm-mmm. They are my favorite!

kittybug, yay for the plumber showing up! Ours showed up an hour late today. He said it was going to take him three hours, so I asked if he minded if I ran to do an errand (that should have taken about two hours). My son was home if he had any issues. Well, on my way into town I ran into stopped traffic. Like turn off your engine and read War and Peace stopped traffic. It was at least a half an hour stopped, so I texted and let them know I'd be delayed. When I finally got home, the plumber was gone, left without being paid. I asked my son how long the guy stayed and he wasn't sure. So I don't know what to think about all of that!

While I was in town I wanted to replace some of the covid tests I've been using, so I was waiting in line at CVS and they said "if you're not buying alcohol, you can use self-check". So I go to the self check and promptly somehow mess it up. I tried to cancel and start over -- couldn't even do that. I finally just abandoned the whole thing. Oof. Some days I really start to feel like a boomer.

I'm still not feeling great, but also not getting worse, so who knows. I meant to do a PCR test somewhere today, but forgot to get registered for one and didn't think about it until I was already driving and stuck in traffic.

cataddict, it's so funny to read your posts about Caroline's workouts because your reactions are so different from mine. I do not like the metabolic ones in Fuel! I think the whole zone 2 training works better for me personally because when I do more intense workouts like the Fuel total body metabolic ones, I'm hungry and eat anything that's not nailed down those days. I hate that feeling! So, I may sub in for those this week. I did really like the first legs one this week (#11) and the upper body that I did today (#12). I'm looking forward to the glutes one tomorrow that you subbed for (understandably since it's a bummer to have to think of substitutions on the fly). Oh, and the banded pushup hack? I don't think it necessarily works any different muscles, but it seems more like an assist -- almost like banded pullups assist. I do notice a difference between band strengths -- I've tried Cathe's orange and green (not the blue yet) and it's definitely easiest with orange, a little harder with green.

Oh my gosh this is a long post. Waves to Kate, horusosiris, and Linda!

TGIF, phew!

Today was CL 097 Circuit S-W-E-A-T. Perfect total body cardio/strength workout with pretty good music in this one!

Manleym, SO good to 'see' you and hear about the vacay (but not the auto issues, UG)!! We're so interested in that area or somewhere similar to potentially move. Y'all, our property assessments here just came out and things are literally NUTS here. It's crazy what our values are now compared to just two years ago, and we're scared about the resulting increased taxes. There are people getting pushed out of their own homes because they can't afford them anymore.

OH, and on the barre, I am LOVING Pure Barre. I love Carrie's no-nonsense approach and her musicality, but I love these later Pure Barre DVDs from some studio owners even more. They are right up there at the top of my list now with Ballet Physique, maybe even harder, no, definitely harder. They waste NO time and just never stop...there are no long pauses getting you into position, yet the form pointers are impeccable and seem to also come when I can feel my form suffering. The sets sometimes go on for what feels like so long, very challenging stuff.

Aww, Kim, thanks for saying that about the kitty. I think it's more a matter of having SUCKER in neon letters across my forehead than anything else. My husband is teasing me relentlessly because I gave him so much grief for the ferals that turned into Cheeto and Charli. And I said the same thing once when just watching a clip of a TA workout...!!! I know some people have gotten great results with her, but she just isn't my cup of tea. At all!!

ChelePA, I find it amazing you can tackle that yard! That is quite the workout. Hope you're doing okay!

Bee, yikes on the traffic! I do hope you're feeling better. Did your plumber do the work? Maybe he'll just bill you later. We actually got our plumber because the first time he ever came over for something, he didn't even charge me for anything, saying he hadn't done anything (uh, yes, he did).

VVfer, I love to cook but I too would be eating those cherries as is because YUMMMMM!!!! You're a smart woman.

Waves to all...have a great weekend, Watulans!

Hi all!

Yesterday, I did a couple of Paul Eugene's YouTube workouts. A marching one and a stretch. He has a lot of videos going way back. He does dance, mini-trampoline, chair fitness, resistance ball, cardio, step, weights, etc. I stick to his simple cardio and the stretch ones as I can't do choreography. He's about my age, and he has some moves and a lot of energy!

There is a big heat wave coming up next week. I dread it!!!

Yesterday was Fuel #14 Full Body Tempo. I liked it. I've come to the conclusion that if I can do 95% of the exercises without a full modification (other than the weight amount) then I like it. I also want the heart rate to be up a little, otherwise it's not "metabolic" or zone 2 for me. I followed it with a timesaver from Party Rockin Step #1. There is one combo (#4, I think) that is just too much twisting and turning for me and I had to modify 90% of it "on the fly" but other than that it was fun to do. Oh I wanted to mention that some of the music in the Cathe's Cross Train Express really appeals to me--particularly the warm up music. I used it pre-Caroline several times.

Tomorrow is Fuel #15 and it's Dumbbells and Burpees. Well, maybe burpees for some. I haven't decided if I'm gonna try the workout knowing I will be doing my own modification of burpees (her step back is useless to me since it's too fast). It sounds like the workout is more focused on cardio so I may just pop it in and go for it. OTOH I'm finding I may be getting burned out or as I call it Rotation Fatigue. I'm getting burned out on the music, the repetition of exercises (I've done more Arnold presses in the past 3 weeks than I've done in the past year), and just general "I Want Something Else" as I bang my fists on the table a la Animal House. It's me, not Caroline.

manleym, so glad you had a great vacation and so sorry about the car issue! Grrr! Car trouble is bad enough but worse when away from home. Great you made the best of it and had a good time.

manleym, the Chris Dorner workout was 30 minute basic/intermediate Step Aerobics Class 130 bpm. The picture says "Apartment friendly" and the background shows what looks to be someone's living room with a fireplace. Oh, and what warm up for Caroline is "new"? I didn't see any connected to Fuel, unlike the earlier ones that are followed by the Epic series. What is she wearing? I don't really want (or need) her warmups that are 9 minutes long, so it may be one of those that you're mentioning. I like the Epic warmup, I just can't repeat it 5 times per week. I'm also getting tired of the music since I'll be finished with Week 3 tomorrow and I've heard many of the same songs over and over again. Hah! I definitely have exercise ADD!

bee, yes, funny that we seem to like the opposite Caroline workouts! I think I want to get my heart rate up a bit more with a series that I believe is intended to be more metabolic. I didn't expect that with the Iron series, so when it was relatively low it wasn't a disappointment. I realize that I can't lift all that heavy for certain exercises so that's no doubt a reason my heart rate doesn't go up much in many of the Fuel workouts. I wonder if it depends on the starting point meaning resting heart rate.

bee, I hope you are feeling better! That whole plumber business is weird. Do you know that he actually completed the work?

FN1, glad you are enjoying Pure Barre. I do barre occasionally, probably not as much as I should. They don't look like much, but boy, can they be tough! I saw Mary Kate and baby yesterday whilst I was in the middle of the Caroline workout. By the time I was done they had wandered off so I wasn't able to catch a picture. Baby is getting bigger, has more brown than yellow but is not yet "looks challenged." I also saw Mary Kate's sister (Ashley, of course) for the first time in awhile with her "husband." Wonder if there will be babies there too at some point.

TweenerW, yes, au natural is the best way to eat cherries! All too often people goo up and sugar up fresh fruit and I'd just as soon eat them as they are! We have fresh strawberries, blueberries and peaches now and I eat some of each every morning for breakfast. I sure could use some cherries.

Moby has to go grab a father's day card from the cats for DH. One more thing: Heat! We broke a record for the day yesterday---97. It was 100 degrees further inland! We get a break for the weekend then it's back. FN1, consider how you might like the hot climate if you haven't lived in one before (which you probably have).

Waves to all! Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi all!

Yesterday, I did Tony Horton's Power Half Hour: Arm Toner. It is basic, simple and gets the job done in 30 minutes.

I tried Chele's Awesome Push-up Hack and it was very helpful!

Happy Father’s Day to All

What does everyone think about electric cars? Does anyone have one? The gas tank shock is making us think more about it. My husband wants to get a Tesla but I am not sure about that for a variety of reasons.

Cathe did not do a Cathe Live last week secondary to illness. I hope she is feeling better.

Manelym- Thanks for the article link. It was interesting and helpful. I am glad you enjoyed your vacation (minus the car issue).

Still no TV and no social media for me. I have been catching up on research and enjoying nature and outdoor adventures.

I went to a large mall a few days ago and the stores are gearing up for Christmas in July. It is difficult to escape the commercialism and they are ignoring some of the basic messages of Christmas. Oh well. I am the voice of one crying in the willderness….

Bee- I like Carolyn’s metabolic workouts and I use them in the place of cardio but like you I tend to prefer 2 zone workouts more.

Kitty – there was a time that I did Pure Barre several times per week. I still love barre but mix it up quite a bit.

Cataddict- I too enjoy just the fruit and if I want a treat then I make an all-fruit sorbet.

Vintage- Power Half Hour are solid workouts. The P90 workouts are solid basic workouts too.

Kim...The Loading Dock hours have changed dramatically since Covid. Now open Wednesday though Saturday 11-8:30 pm. I was enjoying our hot weather and then bam much cooler this weekend. Looking forward to warmer temps

VVfer...glad the hack worked for you. It's really been a big help until I get stronger. Although push-ups were always difficult for me so who knows, it may be a permanent modification. And I only like fruit au natural I don't like fruity desserts, drinks, etc.

Cataddict...hoping you get some pics of Mary Kate and baby. How fun to have them as visitors. We had a mama and baby fawn in our development this weekend- much to my surprise.

Kittybug...I survived the lawn max workout, however, I did wake up from a sound sleep with some pretty severe cramping in my good leg...strange but I am wondering if it was from using it more while mowing especially on the hills. Love your kindness to the stray kitties

Bee...I hate when one thing after another goes wrong. Need a redo Hope you are starting to feel better. My daughter's symptoms are also hanging on. We are going into week 2 but still negative.

Horusosiris...my family loved the David's Cookies you sent while I was recovering. My daughter ordered a delivery for my husband as a gift. Delicious as always for dessert this evening.

Busy weekend...Friday we did a firepit and smores, Saturday played Rummikub with the neighbors, and today we went out to eat for Father's Day after my daughter got home from work. Kim...have you ever been to Olde Brook Inn? Another great local restaurant. My husband loves their wood fired pizza. But the dinners are scrumptious too. We then played the Wii for a few hours. Haven't done that in ages. I was quite rusty

Saturday was upper body day plus a 20-minute treadmill walk. Today was a Live 80s Cycling Class in London. The instructor had so much energy. It was a blast! I said it before but really like this studio so much more than NYC. Camera angles are better plus no mirror in the background. I finished with a 10 minute beginner yoga class focusing on malasana pose.

Lower body day plus core on Peloton schedule. Heart rate was up throughout even with bodyweight only moves. Hoping to walk later with my daughter. She’s been so busy since graduation.
