It did help me get back to weight training. It seems geared to beginners and I think anyone here would be bored with it; I did get bored with the last month and went back to my usual variety of workouts. But it did help me get back on track. The workouts are about 30 minutes. They are exercises that we all know. And Debra doesn't keep count, which I know will drive a lot of folks nuts.
I don't regret the purchase at all, but won't be signing up again. I'm happy to be engaged in strength training again, though!
This helps me a lot!! Thankyou so much. I stay at a beginner level pain and intensity wise but I guess I am looking for something to help me work within those limits, not exactly someone that doesn't know how to exercise. I guess I went the long way around asking all this. i wish I had asked about all those programs (in my first post) in the title because noone is chiming in about those, but this one really caught my eye because i am just in the moment right now and the ad popped up on another newsletter I get.) Thankyou!

It got me back to weights

Hi Jen,
I did it. It is just ending for me in a week and I won't sign up for any more. It was alright but I like to work out to music. And I couldn't listen to her breathlessness. I found it really distracting. BUT-she is full of good information and modification suggestions. I did get something out of it but half way through I switched to my Cathe weight DVD's which I hadn't done in years. I know now (must better than years ago) what to modify in these. And also I am only doing full body ones twice a week. I'm finding my strength is really improving with modifying and adequate recovery which Debra says is really key.
She has lots of free stuff on Youtube and her podcast is great. Hope that helps and hope you are doing ok.

Bless you. I pray you are doing well as well. I may take a look at her youtube channel again. Its been several, I think, Years. i don't think I will be buying the program. I probably should be told what and how to modify, etc.. i just, for some weird reason, like to be told and follow. I failed 2 rounds of PT, and the block didn't help me. They did it in my upper spine/ last neck (its late, the word won't come). It didn't help arm mobility a bit and am feeling neck and back area again like I used to- its like the block woke it up. That on top of these sudden body changes and exhaustion from the other diseases and cancer recovery (no chemo, thank the precious Lord, but you know all surgeries take it out of you a little). I need to know better, I guess how to conserve and use energy properly. (I probably need a good specialist that deals with all these health issues together for that, but regular ones don't help much.) and am now confused about needing neck/spine surgery if it has not healed like it was supposed to 5 years ago, and will it even touch the arm issues if I get it done. i know nothing about bursitis and the impingement, but I do know inflammation. The 12 weeks of PT should have helped my arms if they are a separate issue. i behaved very well (lol) during that time, only doing mild cardio and staying away from weights and yoga, other than at PT). Sorry, I am rambling way beyond the questions I asked.

People need me and I am tired of feeling like an invalid, plus I would like to have the strength to travel while I still can.

Sorry for the whining folks. If anyone knows of well done gentle programs that help you be stronger and more mobile, I would really like to know. There is a girl on youtube (i think it is called Keep the Adventure Alive?? And she is all about Osteo arthritis (or one of the big types), and I tried her 4 day program and it was pretty painful, but she is always talking about continueing movement no matter what. I'll shut up of this will go on all night. Thankyou all!!

Jenilu,

I may have suggested this previously - if so, please forgive me - but Silver & Fit has a variety of workouts on their Youtube channel. Many, many beginner level workouts - which I haven't done - and many intermediate and advanced level workouts which I have done. Don't let the name Silver & Fit turn you off. Sometimes gentle is what we need.

Madeleine Lewis does many Beginner Weight workouts where you are seated in a chair, I think. Would those work?

i could try. Its mostly arms/shoulders/neck and stamina. I think I am idiotically trying to find what PT couldn't help me with and some amazing program will cure me of all that ails, lol. i may have to stick to walking style cardio with a little weights here and there (sometimes I can do bands if I am very careful) and recumbant. Find new ways to work my suddenly large core as well. I will look at her workouts on there. I know she has been around a long time, but I "don't think" i have ever tried her- If she had a GAIAM walking workout, I may have tried her once. Thankyou!

Yes, that's the same Madeleine Lewis. I don't do her beginner weight workouts but I do regularly do her intermediate cardio workouts and like them a lot. Super light weights are probably your best bet for now. Remember what Jessica says - anything is better than nothing.

Yes!! I get so mad at some family members that won't do anything if they can't do everything, and my mind has been going in that direction. I still move everyday, but my mindset about it has gotten very ugly. Thankyou!!
