Anyone have a Step Co. step replaced under warranty lately?

I just discovered 3 or 4 indented cracks all the way through the plastic on the underside of the top section right where it sits on the edge of the riser closest to the center of the step. I know some VFers were able to get their steps replaced in the past, but has anyone had any luck claiming the lifetime warranty on a Step Co. step since Escalade took over? My step was manufactured by the Step Co. prior to the takeover by Bollinger and then Escalade, but I'm guessing that probably doesn't matter to Escalade now!

Anyway, any advice out there is appreciated!

I'm sorta thinking I might just see how long the step lasts and get a new one... then make a mini-topper!

I would at least try and use the warranty and get it replaced. What's the worst they can say? No? Then you're back where you started from. If yes? Hey, you're ahead!
