I like this idea, too. But I don't see anything wrong with asking Mary to accept a return, either. She has been great to us, & her reward is that we love her & want to buy from her. Everyone's happy (although it's hard to see how you could possibly be happier than I am, after she charges me very low international shipping charges).

It's not unfair to ask. It's only unfair to demand. If she asks and Mary says no, that's the end of it. But it never hurts to ask.
