McDonalds/Yourself Fitness Yoga DVD

I got the new Asian Salad at McDonald's today (yummy). I also tried not to think too much about the eating out thread I picked the yoga DVD for my Go Active Meal. I just previewed three of the 5 fifteen-minute workouts. The instructor is only about as flexible as I am it seems! The challenge/stress relief section looks good. I don't know if I'll use the others (strength and balance) as they are short, but short is what I need when it comes to stress relief.

The background was set in a grassy sort of woodsy area with a small pond. I told dh that this is so "future", working out with a virtual instructor.

The salad is mixed greens, not iceberg, thinly sliced carrots, grilled or crispy chicken, edamame, snow peas, with a lowfat ginger dressing and almonds to sprinkle on top. Sorry if I forgot a veggie in there! The deal comes with any salad though.

This is what I call bad marketing

So I go to McDonalds through the Drive Thru and I ask about the DVD... they don't even know what I'm talking about. Then, when I get my order, they put it in a bag that is advertising the DVD!!! I got upset! LOL I think it is such poor marketing when you advertise something you don't have!

On the other hand, I've been waiting so long for it (well, okay, a week.. haha) that I'm starting to question whether it is worth it or not. First of all, I don't have a need for the salad, if I buy it, it will be to get the DVD and also you need to buy a bottle of water and you have to pay $5 for the DVD. I might end up paying around $11 for a 15 minute workout... hmm.... not such a great deal I think. (Obviously you get to eat a salad... but I have lettuce at home LOL... )

Are the dvds really worth it or we just have to have them because they are out there ?(well, whenever they carry them in my area)

I finally saw the commercial and I'm not too crazy about an animated/virtual workout. I'll pass on this offer even though the DVD is free with a salad; I don't like collecting things that aren't going to be used much.

I thought the salad was very innovative for McDonalds - with the addition of edamames and using a spring mix of greens (not just iceburg or romaine). I enjoyed it. I only used about 1/4 of the dressing and it was plenty. None of the other salads appealed to me, even though I love Caeser. At least I have a healthy option I like when I take my kids to McDonalds now. I didn't get the DVD.

I should call my local McD's here at work--I usually don't go out to lunch, but tomorrow's my b-day, so I thought I could treat myself! I want to make sure that they have the DVDs though.
