Are they supposed to be to be that fast?

Or is that just the playback? I've seen these before, in calisthenics/warm-ups.

Oh, I remember those very well. When I was young and was in my sleepover sport camp those squats were punishment for misbehaving. We had to do 1000 of those in the middle of the night. You can't walk next day and next 3 days. Your legs are not walking after that. Of course when you have 1000 to perform you do them as quickly as possible and there is your trainer counting. You see push-ups are not punishment. You can only do so many. But these things you can keep going for a long while.

Ouch, Elena. What a cruel punishment! I had a friend whose dad was in the military. Everytime she did something wrong, her dad made her do 100 push-ups! I always thanked the dear lord that my dad, who was in the military also, didn't bring is work home with him.

That kind of thing either makes me furious or sad, or a weird combination of both. WHY do people use fitness activities as punishment? Little wonder that people develop unhealthy emotional associations with working out and fitness activies. And if I found out that my kids had been required to complete the punishment in the middle of the night and that the punishment had multi-day physical ramifications, well you can just IMAGINE that little tempest in a teapot.

BTW, I'm under no illusions that my children never needed correction, particularly at summer camp for some reason. There was the bad sad incident of the boys stealing all the girls' underwear and hiding it in the trees. Will that prank never die? And I totally supported the camp's disciplinary strategy on that one.

You mean he wasn't afraid her uterus would fall out?

Ugh - I don't know what would be more horrid, 100 pushups or 1000 of those squats. I think I'd be scarred for life!

Well, I still remember it very well. Our prank was that we broke into boys dorms and put toothpaste on their while they were sleeping. Perfectly innocent.
