Nice race today - small and local (but not that local to us) with start and finish at the beach. Kids, dogs, fun snacks at finish and loads of sunshine. Too hot for Vannie and Sandy though. In 2 weeks we're running on the Brooklyn shoreline overlooking Manhattan - an out and back. Parking may not be fun the the scenery should be beautiful. About the 4 miles I have nothing good to say....

Anything over 60 degrees is too hot for me. Good luck on the 4 miles. Worst case, you know you can walk that far.

I am so excited for Caroline's new series: FUEL Series. Another 6 week 5 30 minute workouts per week. I am really loving the 30 minute workouts 5 on with 2 rest. I will probably do this one the week after they start, so I have two weeks to fill. I may try to kill myself with 10 Daniel HIITs.

WALK?! My Sandy kicked in at that and I plotted a 4 mile course through my 'hood and scheduled it to get a few runs in. No sense doing an organized event and not having fun.

Looking forward to seeing what she has in store with Fuel. Sounds like a lot of variations on themes, that could go either way.

Helen - Why did the teachers strike? What was the result of the strike?

Buff, how is your friend doing?

The race Friday was nice. We had fantastic weather for it and my friend ran more than I expected. We picked up Applebee's for supper and went back to her house to watch a movie with her kids.

I've been working on reorganizing my workouts and plan to finally do some of the ones still in shrinkwrap!

Vannie - Thanks for asking. Now that her sister realizes I'm not who she thought, I don't expect any updates. I believe a full recovery is expected but after not hearing from someone in a while sometimes when you do hear you think the worst. This is going to be one of those cases where no news is good news.

Sandy - I appreciate the heads up on how many weeks to set up for the month.

buff boy worked with me on form and I couldn't even run 3 miles! Now my calves and left knee are sore. I did what I could, walked the rest, and will head back out sooner than expected to at least walk the distance. I still want to run on race day.

(forgot to copy/paste this yesterday) PT this morning, then this afternoon I did Jessica Smith Look Better Naked and Slim in 6 Slim & Limber. I don't remember the last time I did a 54 minute workout!

Sandy - How as the Squat Marathon? I looked at that this AM and chickened out rationalizing that I needed to get cardio in (I do).
