Hi everyone,
I started my workout week yesterday with Growingannas upper body, as an alternative to my usual Caroline (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0Qb...4uVpN&index=22) and it was a good choice because I had a huge day on Tuesday and I was pretty run down and not prepared for a full intensity Caroline workout. Today was lower body with Caroline EPIC Endgame (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPgU...4uVpN&index=23) and it was great, they were trisets with 30/30/30 on three different exercises then 30 seconds off. There was a lot of unweighted work in this one which made it more doable, but I still worked myself really hard and my legs were shaking by the end. Tomorrow I was thinking of Firm Volume 1 but that may end up being way too much, so maybe Volume 6 again? Eventmom I bet that Esssentrics Full Body Toning was terrific! Buzzer I think Lucy is doing a little better? I decided to go ahead and get an appointment with the orthopedic which is on April 15. I'm hoping they will confirm she's in good shape or recommend PT but that surgery will be off the table. Fingers crossed! Haha thank you about the laziness! Sometimes I think I'm really tired, but when I start working out I perk right up, so it was laziness talking. Actually today I really thought I was tired, although I wasn't trying to skip out on my workout, and I was very pleased that I perked up a lot and pushed through. Yes, I think I will end up mostly just repeating the 12 weeks! I'll repeat all the Dream Body workouts, I may switch out a few of the Caroline strength with other Caroline strength (she has so many! ) and shop my DVD collection to find some easier but still sweat inducing workouts for Fridays to make it more even, since I ended up subbing out most of the workouts I had chosen. I don't have Kick Max (or Hard Strikes) but I know Kick Max is supposed to be a perennial favorite of Cathes, so I'm not surprised to hear you liked that one better! Congrats on the XTrain legs being easier too! I really like Ballroom Aerobics! That is probably a good choice for my easier but still a workout Fridays. Your island is going to be gorgeous by the time you'e done with it!! That tabletop fire pit looks really great too!

Cathe Xtrain Tabata... DONE!
I did all 5 tabatas, of course I paused the DVD between each tabata, as well as sometimes when she was doing the 10 second recovery. I actually did pretty good! I jumped and reached! I was out of breath, my heart rate was really high, but I actually felt pretty good doing it. My pauses weren't that long, and I kept on going. I actually really loved the workout! So this will be a long post. This is what happened yesterday! I saw some lights on the other side of the highway (285) as we were going home, and told LB to see what was going on (she's my informer). She said "it's just cop cars pulled over with their lights on." Weird, but whatever. So I was in the left lane on 285, and suddenly 2 sheriffs come off c-470 (another highway) and race across both lanes and block the left lane. I get over to the right lane, and pull into the pie shaped area between the on ramp and the right lane in case other cops are coming onto the road. The two sheriffs race out of their cars and jump the median super fast... I thought someone went over the side, I saw a bunch of dirt flying. Then they luckily had their backs to us, because they opened fire on a truck going the other way. I looked to see if the guy was shooting back so i knew if we should duck... he was ducking in the truck and moving away from the drivers door, but kept going. Then the sheriffs pick up some of those pop your tire strips that I didn't see them put down, jump the jersey barrier, throw the stuff into the back, and race off. meanwhile, there are probably 20 sheriff cars going either direction on 285. I sat there, now quite knowing when i should move. The first sheriff took off and did a big U turn to go the wrong way in traffic, and he forgot to close his back hatch so stuff was flying out. The other sheriff stopped and picked the stuff up, and took off. There was a whole parade lined up behind me, and finally enough time passed that i didn't think any more cops would be racing onto 285 so i took off for home. LB was crying... I said "that was so cool!!" I was very impressed with the sheriffs. I don't know what was going on, or what he did, but wow. To be the front car to something like that. That was insane!! I think the dirt flying was the guy getting off the 285 service road and onto 285. So anyhow, we were the front car. I was thinking "accident, must be bad the way the sheriff is hustling" so the opening fire thing was confusing. I'm glad they had their backs to us, and the guys didn't fire back! So crazy. So here is the report of what happened. Anyhow, I am so grateful we weren't caught in the crossfire, I had no idea the "suspects" fired at that point. The Sheriffs just stayed where they were, firing. I had no idea. I have never seen anything like that, I probably never will again! So I guess that was a workout yesterday too, because my heart was racing and both LB and I were shaking! Maybe that's why tabata was so much easier today! HAHA! So we did get our fire pit (that's where we were headed home from) and last night we both sat outside with it and roasted some teeny tiny marshmallows we had. It is really pretty!! Ebianco: if you can do volume 1 after a leg workout, I will so super impressed. I'd go with Vol 6 or something easy, like a stretch! HA! I hope the news on Lucy is good. Sounds like she's doing good, so I would think at this point surgery is off teh table as an option. Hopefully!! I didn't know kickmax was a Cathe favorite! That's funny. It is a fun workout, and that's saying a lot since I don't really like kickboxing! Eventmom: I am more of a fan of donkeys than horses, however I have to really think if I want to take care of one for the rest of my life!

Hi everyone,
Wow this weekend is going by fast. I am catching up from Friday: Friday: I decided to do something lighter and pulled out Fitprime Pump, and used lighter weights and it was great! I definitely need to do the Fitprimes more often. You can make them harder if you want, or keep them easier and the music and Anna Benson vibe is excellent. I also really like Heidi as an instructor. She's all smiles and helpful form pointers! Saturday: I had Dream Body Cardio series InTENse on my schedule, and that one is hard even for a DB...so I compromised and did the first three cycles, which was about 33 minutes, then stretch for a 40 minute workout. I was short on time so I'll use that as my excuse I was actually surprised and impressed with myself that I could (mostly) keep up with the wall squat set with all the arm exercises. Then later, I went for a really long walk (I got in about 10k steps so it was a lot!). Today: I didn't quite feel up to fnishing InTENse, but I kept with a HIIT that was definitely easier (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v35D...ndex=92&t=833s) in fact I still had some energy after so I went for a 15 mile run on my treadmill - it's still cold outside! And then a 15 minute extended stretch for a 54 minute workout. And now I have two rest days, but I do hope to go for a long walk tomorrow. Eventmom I know some people prefer Sahra because she's way less chatty than Miranda, but Miranda is "warmer" on screen. I definitely think they both have merit. I always think "I need to do Essentrics/CS more often!" Wow I had no idea donkeys lived so long!! Buzzer Haha I definitely could not face Volume 1 on Friday, or even Volume 6! The Fitprime was good though. I think I'll add a lot more of them for the upcoming 12 weeks. I thought I'd read on GD about kickmax but I could be wrong! There used to be so much talk about Cathe on GD and I was like "ugh not interested" but now I'm excited when there's even a little discussion on the instructors that even remotely interest me! I forgot to follow up on something you said a while earlier, but you said something about they're not approving any new members?? It is such a shame because there is (I'm sure) a whole new generation of "VFers" in the form of youtube instructor followers! WOW that is a crazy event, I read the the Facebook press release you posted!! The police sound like they are totally on top of their game!
