I was bummed at how little free content there was and that nothing seemed to be added.

I use Insight Timer daily. Sooo much free content!
I had a half off deal for Insight Timer. I liked a few of the courses but decided not to renew. The free content is good.

Insight Timer is one of my faves because there is SO MUCH free content!!! I like the Calm app too, but their free content is more limited (although their web option offers more).

I've mentioned this one elsewhere, but since this thread popped up I thought I'd share the link here as well.

This is a ten minute meditation led by Pauline Mckinnon giving you a taste of the Ainslie Meares style of stillness meditation.
I've found this practice to be very helpful in managing my anxiety. (I also use other techniques, but seem to have noticed a definite improvement since I started using this technique on a fairly regular basis. )

I ran across this website with some free meditations for anxiety and panic:

I keep forgetting to add this! Our own Toaster/Beth has some nice, non-intimidating meditations on her YT channel:

I looked to see if there were any specific meditations to address sleep issues. Hint, hint!

LOL! I think you could do almost any of the basic breath meditations to help with sleep; some I would recommend include Body Scan, Square (Box) Breathing, and Leaves in the River.

I haven't added a new meditation in awhile, so I'll try to include a more specific sleep one soon!

I recently remembered an old favorite meditation. I think it may have been posted on VF years ago:

F*** That: An Honest Meditation by Jason Headley

It can be found on YouTube, but I won't put a link because the language is very bad. Not suitable for work or around children or around those who can't tolerate swear words.

I swear like a sailor in real life, so the language doesn't bother me. This meditation makes me smile and is actually helpful at this time in my life.

I had bought the app years ago where you can listen to several versions of the same meditation up to 15 minutes. With even more bad language.

Oh, Alta, you are a hoot-and-a-half! What would we do without you!

I saw a Facebook ad for aluminum foil. The tagline was “a free hat in every box.” Guess who immediately came to mind.

Uh-oh - I never followed up! Maybe I can get a sleep one filmed in time for the time change.
