Lannette, our dedicated exercise space is small 10x13 and we have a treadmill and spin bike in there! However it works really well for us. We work out one at a time in there. Don't feel guilt for getting a dedicated building/studio, good for you! We put up a studio in our backyard last summer for my husband to have a home office/music studio it's been a blessing!

Mine is pictured in my avatar. It's been a work in progress for years with the latest addition being the red "barre" suspended from the ceiling.

Warrior Princess, are those in the—as you are facing it—right bookcase, books or are they VHS's?

I slept through practically all that possible era ... so, this is a fair question that someone may ask.

I just wrote about this in another post. DH built a workout room for me in our basement a couple years ago. I don't know the exact measurements, but it's a nice size room where I can do all of Amy Bento's space hog cardio, without running into anything. Which has always been an issue in the past. I love it!

The columns actually have doors and are filled with cd's and homemade dvd's. I do have some vhs stacks in the closet, as well as a bookcase in the closet that holds dvd's and books. But most of my stuff has been ripped and is played through a Mac Mini that's under the tv. I have it backed up on two external hard drives. Haha. It took a long time to build that collection. I'm not losing it. I do still have a combination vhs/dvd player connected. But I can't remember the last time I played a vhs.

My space is 21 x 21. Go big, if you have the option.

I have a 10 x 10 area set up for my workouts and a stationary bike on the opposite side of the room.

So, anyway, insofar as I was Rip Van Winkle during that era, Kay B., are whatever is in the bookcase on the right, books or are they VHSs?

I don't think this is such a bad question to ask ...

Nancy, I love your squat rack! It's so unique looking, it's almost pretty, like a piece of art.

It's the LEAST "gym-y" squat rack I've ever seen.

Do you remember where you got it/who makes it?
