Workouts:
last Saturday - CL #403 Total Body Compound Core (good metabolic; HR up) Monday: Squeeze (L's from....HA!) Tuesday: moved boxes and cleaned at one of my schools; back was tired and sore so I did JSmith TBB cardio flow and core stretch. Felt good after moving boxes and cleaning and just being tired. Wednesday: SB Flat Belly Barre Classic Barre and Total Body Barre. Not as hard as BarreAmped but felt good. Great stretches. She interacts with background exercisers, which reminds me of those PopSugar workouts on YT. Thursday: Unpack Max at one of my campuses; CL #406 Core-Tensive Strength And Conditioning (good; perfect after a long week back to work and unpacking today) Friday: Squeeze Stronger (who does weighted deadlifts as the warmup??? Especially fast ones?? YIKES! But this is a GREAT workout that moves FAST!! High reps; Loved variations & new/different moves; LOTS of camera angle changes; wanted to say “keep the camera still”; guess it was to be artsy; sometimes I just had to look away because it was distracting and I'm not used to the workout; definitely harder than Squeeze; maybe harder than Fire - it's up there so far in difficulty; used FIRM sculpting stick, which I haven't used in ages; it got heavy; like all the premix options) + JSmith Feel Good Fusion Flow Cardio (felt really good after SS; nice, flowy movements; liked the yoga stretches at the end; liked her message of working out should make you feel good; do something you like, etc.) Today: CDorner Step Aerobics Intervals With Cardio Kickboxing Mash-Up Workout (GREAT! Only 1-2 shout-outs so that was nice! Appreciated/identified with her comment of "listen to your body and not your mind. You might have been able to jump or do something 10 years ago but may not be able to now." Think we're all there...) + Michelle Briehler 20 MIN Cardio Kickboxing Workout At Home No Equipment Sweat & Burn (good add-on) I went to an estate sale this weekend and picked up a Spri 24 lb weighted bar and 15 pound kettlebell. I thought I could use the weighted bar in place of a barbell. And the extra KB will come in handy if I do a workout that needs 2 KBs. Wonder how that will feel since they aren't the same brand or shape. Guess I'll find out! Hubby and I used to do alot of estate sale shopping and I've found some great deals on weights, Crescent Moon yoga mats, resistance bands, etc. We've found some really nice art pieces, rugs, and furniture as well. It's really fun to go look at the houses and find treasures. |

Wow, you all have been busy! Well, except lavna (just kidding ).
Kate, it seems like you've gotten a lot of work done around the house -- that must feel great! Bet it's nice to see your brother since I'm guessing you probably don't get together very often with him so far away. Hope you had a great weekend! Chele, great news on only your brother getting covid! A friend told me this morning that her husband had it sometime in the last year and she still slept in the same bed with him and never got it! They were both vaxed and boosted. Strange how it travels (or not). cataddict, no worries on not getting to the post office!! No rush at all. As manleym mentioned, maybe the library would be a good place to donate? Funny story about Olly and the ball -- poor guy! One of our dogs is so afraid of the stability ball -- doesn't matter how far away she is -- if she sees anyone going near it, she exits immediately. manleym, phew -- I got tired reading your description of all the work stuff. Hope everything goes smoothly when the kids come back Wednesday (seems so early!). Cool finds at the estate sale! We're always on the lookout for good cast iron pans whenever we go to those sorts of things (or antique shops). lavna, sometimes staycations are the best, aren't they?! I'm guessing when your read for pleasure it's in french? Well.... I have finally had my fill of Caroline for a bit. I need some sort of break. Not quite sure what to do. I want a set rotation, so I may check out Cathe's monthly rotations, but.... I also want to keep my workouts on the shorter side, so may end up doing shorter premixes. I'm really enjoying keeping strength work separate from cardio (except given the spiked heart rate that heavy weights seems to give me), so I'll be looking for that. Seems like so much of her live workouts are combined cardio and weights, so I'm not sure I'll even look there. Oh, today's workout was day 5 of Caroline's kickass kettlebell. It was very rough for me. I've changed up my eating habits a bunch, and eating less, so maybe I just wasn't "fueled" enough. And, maybe I was just Caroline-fatigued. Work has been a little crazy, but still fun. I'm submitting some funding proposals this week and on Friday what was two proposals became four proposals this morning. Needless to say, there's been some weekend work and will be a bit more. All good. Our very cautious toastmasters group finally met in person this morning for the first time since lockdown. I had figured people would be masked, but they weren't. Hopefully none of us get sick! I was so excited to see everyone in person! Before I left the house my husband said I was like a teenager going on a first date. Waves to Vintage, Horusosiris, Linda, and Kim -- Kim you must be so excited about your vacation week! Have a great time!!

Ugh! I wrote a post then promptly lost it. D'OH!
And speaking of D'OH I am confusing myself with the numbers of the Cathe Lives that I am doing. The "repetitive" CL was #41 Legs with weights and stability ball. It had 3 sets of each exercise and it got a bit old at set 3. I also did #197 which is Cardio Kickboxing and Cardio Barre. This one was a bit different, but the "cardio barre" was essentially the same cardio exercises that are used in other workouts without the barre. I admit I was wondering before I started it how the barre would be incorporated into the cardio, and it was mostly as a place to put one's hand or hands. It's okay, I liked it fine. lavna, good to "see" you. You seem to have been so busy that a stay at home vacation is probably just what you needed! Oh, and I looked at the clip of CL #177 in case I messed up the number and I did see the CSW in it but since the clips are kind of fuzzy and you don't see her for a long time her crazed look isn't so obvious (at least to me). bee, glad that your work is still good and challenging. Also good that your toastmasters group is back to "in person"---hopefully not prematurely. I read that they are now studying people who didn't get Covid to see why they are "different" since such a large percentage of the US population has had the virus in some form. manley, so much preparation for the school year! One of our granddaughters went back to school this past Wednesday. She's in Tennessee. I can't imagine going back so soon! Waves to all!
