Easier ab workouts???

I really hate working my abs and rarely ever do. That being said, I do alot of Cathe stength work (not as heavy as she goes though) but her newer ab workouts are just too advanced for me and frustrate me to no end which causes me to just give up. I need to work on strengthening my abs. When I do abs, I usually end up doing the abs from her Basic Step Stability Ball Abs add-on. Anyone have any suggestions for ab workouts (doesn't have to be Cathe) that could start helping me strengthen my core area without killing me and frustrating me until I just give up on it. I'm mainly looking for about 10 - 15 minutes to add onto my workouts. Any suggestions.

I am also interested in hearing about these easier but effective options.

I cannot count the times I have hurt myself trying to attempt to do a core exercise that was too advanced for me. It seems that for me as years go by, my abs seem to lose gains faster than other muscle groups. I am tired of suffering from strained back muscles.

Thanks for posting this question

There is a segment on bottom line/ Core defined that is really good at working core.

My DH, who does not use workout DVDs normally, loves the ab section on 10 Minute Solution Fitness Ball Workouts with Kimberly Spreen. I like it too.

Quick Fix Pilates Abs with Kelly Roberts is a good one, has 3 - 10 Minute segments. And another vote for 30 Days to Flat Abs!

Hi, Cheryl,
I really like the standing abs section of Amy Bento's Abs & Stretch. There's a second floor abs section, but I find it a lot harder and less enjoyable than the standing abs. Plus I like both stretch sections; it's a nice little DVD. Each of the four sections is 15 minutes or less.

Horizontal Conditioning Getting Started has three 10 minute workouts that are really good for core strengthening. You can start out just going through one of the workouts once, then as you build strength, you can either string segments together, or Sandra (the instructor) recommends performing the same segment 2 or 3 times.
