Today was a gym day with DH, elliptical and walking. Not too exciting! I think DH is wanting to get the t shirt too but won't admit it.
So, here are the stories behind the names of the new arrivals. Yesterday we were sitting at breakfast and I was giving DH an update on
Chele and he asked, "where is she from again?" I told him and we both stopped and looked at each other and it was like a light bulb went off in our heads simultaneously and we knew we had our name for our new arrival! Amethyst was the name the shelter gave her, and we liked it so we kept it. Ollie was originally named David Bowie, believe it or not. The lady at the shelter said they had gotten in so many animals in a short period of time that they were really reaching for names---there even was one named Collard Greens! Anyway Olly AKA David Bowie just stuck his little head above the tablet and was staring at me typing. He and Ammy went to the vet for a check up and so far, so good for both of them. We are seeing if we can arrange to have our vet do Ammy's surgery so as not to traumatize her by taking her back to the shelter.
I will post more pictures when I have some time. Of course I've taken many, many so far and there are so many great ones.
Oh, and
Kim, girl, all I can think of when you mention the name Walter is the book Walter the Farting Dog. How bad is that??????
In other news, my sister texted me tonight that she got remarried to her first husband today! I was in high school when she married him the first time so that tells you how long ago it was. They reconnected recently through Facebook and rekindled their relationship. I knew they were seeing each other but no inkling that marriage was imminent, so surprise, surprise! She sent a picture and her hair was fixed the same way it was the first time. I commented on it. It's kind of a bittersweet memory as she, her new/old husband and I are among the few people still alive to remember the first wedding. We never know how much time we have, and I'm so happy for her. Life is sure full of surprises.
One of my favorite Christmas movies is Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. I used to look forward to it every year. I did find it on a channel last year, but man, there were so many commercials that it seemed so darn choppy. I was disappointed, but I will look for it again this year, maybe on a channel that shows more respect for a classic.
Hah! This is one off topic post, not that cats are ever off topic.
Waves and hugs to all Watulans!
