If you need another idea for gliding discs on carpeting...

Not sure if these have been mentioned here before but the other day I was desperate for some gliding discs since mine often stick and I didn't have any paper plates on hand. Anyway I used the lids from tins and was very pleased at how great they worked! Of course I could never use them again for their real purpose but I was very happy to find a substitute and wanted to share.

Oh that’s great idea!’ Thanks for sharing.

I’ve used thicker, heavier shopping bags too. But I bet the lids would be more durable.

Confession time....... once in a hotel I used the slick rectangle card that told me my sheets would not be washed unless I left that slick card on the bed. It was big enough that it worked great.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are tins? I’m guessing it’s a regional expression.

You're welcome!

You reminded me of how I ended up using these in the first place! I was looking for Christmas gift bags since I was out of paper plates when I came across the tins.

The nice thing about the lids is that they aren't completely flat.

That's funny. We vidiots will improvise with just about anything.

You are not ignorant! I probably should have said "cookie tins", sorry about that. Here is a pic.

I've used a smaller, slick padded envelope (from a DVD purchase, no less!) when I misplaced mine.
