Best place to sell old workout DVDs?

I have quite a few workouts I would like to sell. I need to clean out my collection to make room for new stuff, and I need any money I can get to help pay for the new stuff! I have some things listed on Craig's List, but that never seems to do much. Has anyone ever sold anything on Amazon or EBay? What were your experiences?

I sell on Amazon all the time, never had any problems. The fees are higher than some other sites, but if you have buyer issues they can help out.

They also have a trade-in program. Check the trade-in value before selling (this button is below "Sell on Amazon". Occasionally I'm pleasantly surprised at the trade-in value. This is much easier than selling (they even pay postage). The more common DVDs will have a very low trade-in value.

I belong to a trading site (SwapADVD) - this is good for trading away common titles. But, you likely won't get exercise videos in return ... but at least you get something.

I have sold a number of times on amazon with no problem. Yes the fee is a bit high but it is worth it. You list it. They set the shipping charge and notify you when it is sold. All you have to do is send it out. They then deposit the money into your bank account. I know some have had problems with both buyers and sellers but I have not.

I 2nd everything Tracy & Phyllis said. My favorite place to sell is eBay. Some DVDs sell above retail price.

Amazon's trade-in is hit or miss. So check often. I was able to get some really high trade-ins on some of my turbo jams that I never used.......

I think it's more expensive and more of a hassle to sell on eBay. On eBay there's a fee when your listing starts, when it ends, if you add more than one photo, etc. Then there are the separate PayPal fees. And it takes forever just to put together a listing.

On Amazon, you find your item, click "Sell on Amazon," and you're done in a minute. There is one fee...when your item sells. And I think the fee is pretty reasonable.

I agree Julie. I have listed and sold things on ebay and what a hassle. The fees are endless or so it seems and you have to take the picture, set the shipping fee etc. Amazon does it all. Saves time and maybe money as well.

I was checking out the trade in section on Amazon, and I have a question. I have a couple of dvds that still have the original case, but most of the ones I want to sell do not. I just have the dvd in a clear dvd case. I hardly ever keep any of the original cases since I store all my workout dvds in a binder. I have too many to keep them all in their original cases; it would take up too much space. I am wondering if these are even capable of being traded in. They are all in very good condition, just no case. I'm wondering if it would just be better to sell them outright, as is instead.

Some VFers prefer to have the artwork but otherwise will accept a DVD in a jewel case as long as you disclose the information in your trade.

To trade in on Amazon, you must have original cases and artwork. You also need them to sell on Amazon as well.
