Pam, enjoy your visit with your granddaughters.
I know what you mean about needing some down time.

Beth, those pictures were hilarious! Thanks for the laugh. I needed that today.

Good morning all

Yesterday's workouts:
- CS1404 - All Standing. Interesting work for the hands and fingers: chopping wood, rotating arm punches to the front. Exercises for arms and chest. Caribbean spine and windmills and calf/quad stretches. All set in a beautiful garden.
- HealthBarre Zoom
- Neighbourhood walk

Today so far:
- CS1405 - 10 minutes of warm up and standing wide leg pliés and then on to the floor for side lying leg work, seated straight leg quad alphabets (new to me) and leg and hip stretches on the back. Miranda's standing at the bottom of the vineyard. I think the reason I'm enjoying these so much is partly due to the beautiful surroundings.
- Karin Vol 2 Slings in Motion: Back to Front, Strong & Open

Beth - I loved the wildlife photos. Hope you can rest and recuperate this weekend after your stressful week.

Pam - I read about the awful flooding in Vancouver. I'm glad you are safe. I agree, entertaining is fun but exhausting. Wishing you safe travels home.

Pat - You asked last week why workouts get harder the more we do them. Someone asked Sandra this in the last Zoom class. She said that when you're a beginner, you recruit a lot of muscles to do an exercise. As you progress, you begin to learn how to target a specific muscle only and this makes it that much harder because you're not relying on the bigger muscles to take over. All I know is that my leg feels like it weighs a ton when I'm doing some of the leg work!

Waves Paine, Sandra, Cyana and anyone visiting today.

I'm gearing myself up to do some yard work this afternoon. Oh fun!

Good morning! Yesterday featured:

~ Lively Ladies 25 Minute Power Walk
~ Unplugged 1905
~ My own deep stretch routine
~ 7,409 steps

Pam, oh no! Thank you for checking in. I'm so glad you and your family are safe. Did your home sustain any damage? I can't even imagine how exhausted you are after all the company, too. Sending prayers to all.

Beth - ow, owww, OOUCH!!!! It reminded me of the old saying "slide down a razor blade." Ouch.

Margot, sounds like CS 14 is working out well for you. That makes a lot of sense about the workouts feeling harder phenomenon. Say - you know how we think of silly things at weird times? For some reason my BIL and his weak instant coffee habit came to mind, and I thought - I bet it stems back from WWII and the GIs in Britain with their packaged rations. I read that's how beans and toast became a breakfast staple in the isles, too.

Happy Saturday to everyone!

Glad you all enjoyed the photos (Pat, OUCH on that saying)!

Had a random Frankenworkout this morning but at least I did something. Spend some time lying over my acupressure pillow (which I haven't used all that often) since I have a bit of a pressure headache today. DH and I are going on an excursion to Goodwill and then to "linner" after.

Today is a rest day. I had to go to 4 markets this morning to find everything, ugh!! The markets were busy because of Thanksgiving.

Margot, thanks for telling us about CS 1404 and 1405! The scenery sounds gorgeous.

Beth, I hope you find some treasures at the Goodwill!
Enjoy your "linner"--yay, you don't have to cook.

I'm waving to everyone!

Hi!

No workout yesterday as Friday is my scheduled rest day.

Today's Workout: The Lying Poses For Flexibility practice from Yoga For Beginners with Jane Adams. I *loved* this one today! It loosened up my tight lower back, and it was so peaceful -- I like where the deer comes out from the woods to watch Jane for a while.

Yogapam: Glad you checked in! I was thinking of you when I read about all the flooding around Vancouver (although I know you don't actually live in the city).

Paine: I've finished all my shopping for Christmas, and just did a last big stock-up on groceries to carry me through the New Year. Of course I'll make a few small trips for perishables, but that is it! I don't like crowded stores, especially with Covid continuing.

Take care everyone!

Happy Sunday to all!

Yesterday evening:
- Kate Vantucci's (thank you Beth for the recommendation) - Pretty Little Ditty - A very cleverly put together routine and totally unlike anything I've done before. I enjoyed it. I just had to forego the last couple of moves, as they were a bit too advanced for me.

This morning I did:
- Body Groove DYHO 20 min
- HealthBarre 18 minute Segue
- CS1407 for Back Pain Relief - Standing: I liked this little sequence including 'fake' Tai Chi moves (as Miranda calls them) and bow and arrow. Barre: including leg kicks, fan kicks (formerly stepping over babies) and hip cleaners, followed by usual leg stretches. Yes Paine, the scenery is beautiful. This episode was filmed with mountains in the background. I wonder where it is?

I'll be back with personals. Lunch is ready!
