Thanks for the new thread!

I just started reading Stephen King's The Institute a few days ago and am over halfway through. I am also still enjoying Pay Attention, for Goodness Sakes!

I read The Institute last year. I’m not a huge Stephen King fan, but I enjoyed it. I’ve only read a few of his books & my hands down favourite is 11/22/63.

Pam, I'm enjoying The Institute, but it does seem a bit like a rehash of several of his other books, including Doctor Sleep, Firestarter, and one of the Dark Tower books (I get some of them confused but have read them all). It seems like 11/22/63 is a favorite of many, but I actually found it too be a bit boring with the super-long descriptive sequences (especially about Oswald). That's YMMV applied to reading.

Beth - I haven’t read any of the titles you mention so I guess 11/22/63 was fresh material for me. I read it for my book club and it’s not one I would have read otherwise. One way book clubs can broaden one’s horizons. And I confess that I am frequently guilty of skimming over long tedious descriptions....

I haven't attempted this one mostly due to the length, but one of my sons read it and felt the same way. It was recommended to him by a good friend so he finished it, but kind of regretted it.

I'm finishing up Kitchen Confidential. Parts of it are good, but I'm mostly bored. I need to get better about skimming parts I don't enjoy or just not finishing a book.

Just finished The Doctors Blackwell by Janice Nimura. Wow , excellent , well-researched non-fiction about the first female MDs in the US. If you have any interest in women's health I think you will enjoy it .

TracyQ, thanks for sharing about that book, and Erica H, I'm curious about your reaction!

I just started Marian Keyes' The Brightest Star in the Sky. I've read most of her books but it's been awhile since I've read anything by her; this one is a little different.

I picked up 2 novels from a local library book sale yesterday, and when I got home, I was glad to see that both were well-rated on Amazon. The titles are The Silent Sister and The Bright Forever.

Beth, have you read "The Yoga of Decluttering?". It came up in my Facebook feed. I may see if my library will order it since it is expensive.
