I pay monthly for Cathe Live for $9.99 and Ellen for $5.95. I buy the Essentrics yearly special in January each year, but I usually tell my family that it's my Christmas present.
I modify all Cathe Live workouts and do 1 or 2 a week. I do 2 or 3 Ellen workouts. I do 4 or 5 Essentrics workouts a week. For me, it's totally worth it. I do a couple Leslie walking or Jessica workouts and those are the only DVDs I use now. Cathe Live workouts are awesome and to me are much more modifiable than her DVDs. I like resistance band and loop and gliders, and lighter weights for metabolic, and there are so many that are in the 45 min range. |

I really love all the options that are available to us and no wait! Remember how long we used to wait for new workouts? We're so spoiled now.
I do enjoy some YouTube content, but the streaming memberships I have I use almost every day. It's worth it.

There have been posts in the past about generosity of offering “free” content on YouTube, but I think we don’t always realize that if the instructor also has paid options, youtube is a way to get people to try them and increase their business that way, and also that YouTube itself is income-generating. Not everyone wants to go beyond YouTube and build a subscription business, maybe because their YouTube is more of a part-time side thing for them, but generally they are not offering YouTube content as a charity. And I’m not offended by any posts, it’s just an observation. I’ve paid for video content for several sites, and for a couple different weight-lifting plans. Right now I have two yearly subscriptions, for $100 each. $200 doesn’t seem like too much to me for having go-to workouts I enjoy, with regularly-added new content. Along with occasional new equipment to advance or change things up, and new shoes every now and then, that seems like a pretty low dollar investment for huge health benefits. I don’t really compare the cost to live classes because live classes are so different and more deserving of more money per class. |
