I’m into the home stretch!

Day 36:
~beachfront Hatha yoga class - This was a gentler class, lovely & stretchy.

Pat - Some of Rodney’s cues crack me up. I agree with Dena….if only the pubis & tailbone could communicate….

Dena - Wheel definitely doesn’t always look pretty! I don’t attempt it anymore as I baby my lumbar spine.

Dena, hope you feel better.

Pam, I figured some people must be getting close now!

Speaking of yoga not always being pretty, I don't think I mentioned it here (I mentioned it on my other checkin) - I'm doing a yoga photo shoot this Saturday! I have a friend who describes himself as hobbyest photographer, and he is trying to get more skilled in doing portraits. He asked me if I would model, thinking we could do more standard portraits plus yoga poses. So, I'll be trying to think of the simplest "pretty" poses I can! Any suggestions? (When I ask DH to take a yoga photo of me, I usually default to Warrior 2.)

Haha, I forgot to report my actual yoga! I did a ball routine from Ellen Saltonstall (YT) for the neck that felt really good, and then I did the daily yin challenge, which also happened to be for the neck, Graceful Bow. I didn't know that name, but it was basically just a lateral neck stretch; I loved doing it with the bolster!

Thanks for the well wishes, Beth.

That is so exciting about the photo shoot! Some simple (that term being open to interpretation ), 'pretty' poses that come to mind are Tree, Warrior 3, Downward Facing Dog, Upward Facing Dog, Three Legged Dog, Crescent, Sphinx, Cobra / Baby Cobra, Pigeon, Side Angle...

Would any of those be possible poses?

Dena, I think we can do whatever I want; he might have some specific ideas, but he's pretty open. It would be nice to get a balance like tree in there, but I don't know how long I can sustain before falling over, LOL! I am also thinking lunges, twists (might be less pretty though), and gate pose, one of my favorites.

Gate pose is a good one, Beth! As for tree, maybe you could stand by a wall and put one hand on it for balance until he's ready to shoot then tell him to take pics quickly before you teeter and fall. LOL

Today's practice was Chill Vinyasa with Kaylie Daniels (YT) followed by a Powerful Energy Cleansing meditation, which cleansed so much energy from me that I fell asleep afterwards.

Today I did Day 17 of the Yin Yoga Challenge with JDG, Squat Pose. I use my slanted riser to prop my heels. Yesterday I did Day 16, Graceful Bow, a lateral neck stretch, and today I went back and did this again on one side of my neck that was feeling stiff.
