Timed-based or Rep-based workouts. Which do you prefer?

I'm on the fence. I like time-based workouts so I can just do my thing until the timer is up but I also like workouts that move to the beat of the music so I guess those are considered rep-based?

Which type do you prefer and why? Does one yield better results? TIA!

Time based. I feel I don't have to rush to keep up with the instructor. I am assuming you are talking follow along workouts, not paper workouts.

Rep based. I hate watching a workout where everyone is going at a difference pace.

question for all: what are your favorite time-based workouts? for me, Tony Little's Body Express system.

I like both, but even when it is time based I count my reps, to even the other side... Sight... lol

KCM's Cardio Pump has a strength segment that is a perfect blend/compromise between both options -- love it!

I used to think I liked rep based, but after doing Caroline Girvan and Heather Robertson workouts that are timed based, I find I like time based so much more. I still count in my head, but I don't feel I have to keep up with the instructor and rush or get messed up with their count.

This!! I’ve become so used to time based that I’ve forgotten how to count.

I really like Tapout XT for time-based workouts. I like being able to go at my own pace with those workouts. JNL Fusion is a good one, too.
