Jessica Smith vs Leslie Sansone

Can someone tell me how Jessica smith walking workouts are similar or differ from Leslie? I'm looking to add in some low impact stuff and my body didn't like Leslie at all. I got very fluffy and her workouts made my saddlebags worse. It bummed me out because I did like Leslie. Thanks!

I'd have to say that Jessica has a lot more variety in her walking workouts whereas Leslie's tend to be very similar from DVD to DVD. Jessica has lots of different moves vs. Leslie's four basis steps. Jessica's workouts are more low-impact-aerobics-like (compared to just walking).

I still like Leslie, but don't really use her much anymore since finding Jessica.

Hope that helps.

I agree with Shelbygirl. Jessica has so much variety and isn't strictly "walking." Leslie has added more moves lately, but hers are definitely walking workouts. I'm surprised that Jessica calls so many of hers "walking" because they are more cardio, but that's apparently the exercise market she's targeting these days.

Also, even though Jessica does talk a fair amount, she's not over the top like Leslie is with the crazy laughing, etc. (and I say that lovingly about Leslie).

lately, leslie has been using more weights.

of the Jessica DVDs that I own, I like them. she's more cardio imho. Jessica has a lot of free, full-length workouts on youtube. if you'd like to test her out, that would be a great place to start. some people have gotten by with just her youtube workouts.

In my humble opinion, I find Jessica to simply be more pleasant to work out with. Leslie drives me up a tree!

I really like Jessica's personality and the range of her work. I respect her as a fitness professional and as a business person. Unfortunately, her walking workouts tweak my knees and make them ache for days (or until I can get them back into shape with T-Tapp, et al).

Leslie can be annoying and frustrating and sometimes down right scary (that frantic-with-bonhomie-frenzy really freaks me out), but I can do all but one or two of her workouts (two that came out more recently and have some unusual bouncing around in a circle) and never hurt my knee.

As for getting fluffy--I find that if all I do is cardio, I get fluffy.

This is pretty much me. I want to love Jessica's workouts: she's so cheerful and encouraging and the workouts look great. But I don't enjoy them and they're a bit too twisty/torque-y to me.

I enjoy Leslie well enough...for a mile or two. I find the repetition soothing, and the exertion level is just right. Plus it doesn't cause aches/pains but 30 min. is my absolute max with her.

I recently got some new shoes that are better with the twisty moves on carpet. I didn't realize it would make a difference til I tried the new shoes.

Jessica's more my style, and I appreciate the way she keeps on putting out useful content. I wish I could stream so I could try her youtube workouts, but for now I just stick with her dvds.

Leslie? Not evil, but something about her style just wears on my nerves, so I gave her up. I hate keeping track of every quarter mile, somehow that just makes the workout drag for me.

So funny. My knees don't like Leslie because she marches in place too much.
