You're sweet. I had particular members of my family in mind when I chose the word. I'm bothered by the fact that the people I love the most are the people to whom I am the least charitable.

Thank you. I'm hoping for those changes, too.

Mine is LISTEN.

Not one that I am in love with but, I have to go with what popped into my head. It hasn't failed me yet.

It's definitely something I need to work on and have for my whole life. Listen to my gut feelings, my body (definitely), what is going on around me, what do I hear in quiet mode and, listen, deeply, to what other people say.

Last year was WILLINGNESS. It was great. I see my husband as he gets older not willing to be open to any new ideas or experiences. I don't want that to be me. And, it felt like I was headed that way.

I've been bothered by this, too. It may be because we know their faults and they know ours. It's why I chose 'forgive' as one of my choices. I wasn't sure how to word it, but I think holding onto past grudges has made me less generous toward my family (like you, not so much in a material sense but more with actions and feelings).

Both of you have given me much to think about.

I saw this today and decided I might need it as my "slogan" for the year: "Getting old is mandatory. Acting old is optional."

Rebirth, renew and resurrection.

2020 just about wiped my slate clean - that and menopause - I am not who I was and finally making peace with my past baggage. Feel hopeful & excited to finally take a shot at doing what I love. Have the tools in place to begin rebuilding my life anew at 54.
