I try things like headbands, love them but my head is too big; fancy hair pins, just too much hair; defrizz products, in the Midwest in the summer….no matter what or how good, nothing works. My hair goes straight in dry climates and frizzes and curls in humidity. I have no patience for straighteners, curling irons or even blow drying it to look decent. In the end it has its own mind. I trimmed to a bob and let it go. Hair won, Mary lost.

I did take a pile to Goodwill today and plan to clean a closet this weekend to make everything more accessible. I did do the catch all closet the other night and it’s way better. It’s under the stairs so kind of an awkward space and hard to make it seem accessible. But did my best.

I gave a small sack of shirts to a friend yesterday. It isn't much but at least it's smthg!

My hair is long and curly. I wash it and let it dry naturally. Like Mary, it's flat and straight in the winter and AZ. When it gets humid it has curl and I don't even care if it gets frizzy bc at least it has body! Although there are times the frizz is so bad I feel like Monica Geller in Barbados (or wherever Ross' conference was on Friends).

~jeannine - I've never played Tetris. I was not good at video games at all. Good luck on the interview!

I got bored with boxing the endless collectibles and have started going through closets and books for the Salvation Army.
For me, Halloween is a lifestyle, not a holiday! I was at Goodwill yesterday looking for workouts and they had Halloween stuff out! I bought several things and then decided I really should check and see if Dollar Tree has theirs out yet. They're just starting but I did buy ornaments for my Halloween tree. This will be the first year having one! I am spray painting an old thrift store Christmas tree black. I also bought variegated black/white/grey yarn and started crocheting granny tree ornaments for it. So excited!

Vantreesta I do have a silver pitcher with frequently used cooking utensils but really don't want to look at the other items P.S. husband is pretty disturbed with the new organization. He hates change and doesn't understand why I won't leave things alone

Alta good job! I have two Christmas decorations that puzzle me every year. I fight a cookie jar and a tealight holding silver knickknack back into their original packing every year. (Why don't I put them in something different?! )

My daughter has sorted through her clothing as she has transitioned into different needs/styles. So we took two huge laundry baskets to a consignment store and one large trash bag to Goodwill. She did an excellent job working through it all. I was quite proud of her.
Sorry, too lazy to multi-quote.

I get that, Linda. I prefer relatively uncluttered countertops, which is one reason I won't get an air fryer despite my family's raves of them.

Halloween stuff is out. I hope I have my neighborhood kiddies come out this year. Most of them are walking really good now and so adorably cute.

in the recipe forum, i reviewed an air fryer/toaster oven that we ended up returning to Sam's club.

everyone - thanks for the good luck charms regarding my interview. other than internal jobs, i haven't gone to an external interview in years. i got to talk to 2 friends who work at the university in a similar dept, and they gave me some good pointers.

the interview was okay. my biggest fear was being perceived as too old.

it was a panel interview with structured questions.

That sounds nerve-racking
