Exclamation Video Link: "Dumb Workout Fails Compilation"

Once in a while I'll watch one of those YouTube "Workout Fails" videos. They remind me to be careful.

Dumb Workout Fails Compilation

Some of them are fake/staged. Some of then obviously involve alcohol use. But, some of them are downright terrifying.

(The video has a door pull-up bar failing. It is not the model I bought!)

ETA: Be very careful about who you choose as a spotter in the gym!

And: I always use protective glasses when I do band workouts.

VV - good point about protective glasses.

I hadn’t thought of protective glasses with bands, but after watching the video, I can see they are needed. I’ve had bands break before, but fortunately it didn’t hit me.

What was that animal that bit the lady on the beach? I guess watch for wildlife when you exercise outside!

They looked like Australian goannas to me.

Quite a few of the incidents resulted from using weights too heavy for the lifter, or too heavy for the equipment, some were from not being aware of their own reach (like breaking light fittings). Most are avoidable with a bit of thought - snapping band/tubing aside.

Thanks Helen. It does look like it. It looked like a lizard and I associate them with the desert and I couldn’t place it. She did get really mad, throwing sad at it. But she was in their environment.

I agree about the weights. They really caused some damage in some instances, like when the barbell rolled across the floor into the glass door.

Ouch, this was hard to watch! I'm glad some of these people were able to laugh after. But the car plowing into the gym, yikes!!

I had a band snap in my face one time. I bought protective glasses after that.
