Great tip! I do the same thing for fresh basil -- that always seems like it's a race against time to use. You're right about the plastic zip lock bag over it, that is crucial.

My local Walmart has been out of paper towels for three weeks, and I am running seriously low. I ran over this morning to see if I might, by chance, get there as they were restocking. No such luck.

I saw a man in the checkout line with several rolls of blue Scot brand Shop towels. I asked him where he found them--over by the bikes. I rolled my cart back and put a couple of rolls in it just as he rolled up to me. He was on the phone (with I'm assuming his wife), 'Ok, Ok, I'm getting more rolls. Yes, she beat me here, but there's piles of rolls here.'

When I rolled off, he was loading his cart with more.

I'm astounded at how empty the shelves are. Not even any frozen fruit.

This. I'm a homebody and I can go a week or more and not see anyone other than the spouse. I'm just fine with that.

The toilet paper hoarding is baffling. We're down to 2 rolls and the couple of places I went today were out.

My husband was at our local Target today and said they had huge pallets of toilet paper at the front of the store. Last time we were there they were completely sold out. I think you just have to hit the store at the right time (before the hoarders get there). I’m sure it’s sold out by now. Good luck.

Anyone needing TP -- you may be able to find some biodegradable rolls (for RV's) in the Sporting Goods section.

I have family across the country without TP and they found flushable wipes instead (just not flushing them) and ripping them in half to conserve them. Also using baby wipes (not flushing either).

They also resorted to just using dish rags in place of paper towel and washing them nightly in soap and water. They may keep doing that even after this!
