We are going to look at getting one, my other half has always wanted one and I would like to try one too. If it cuts down on TP why not?

We went to the grocery store yesterday early in the morning, thankfully it wasn't that busy. Most of the meat was gone, I did pick up a pack of Smart Chicken, and they had shrimp, steak and pork. All the bananas and milk, most bagged produce was gone. They had a few eggs, we did find a loaf of bread, and got there right when the bun man was restocking so we grabbed a pack of buns from him. Most of the bottled water was out and there was no TP. And of course I haven't been able to find sanitizer for weeks. We have a lot of Clorox wipes on hand already since we both had a bug early in January.

I go to the water station and get the gallon jugs and just refill them when I go to the store. I have done this for years and I like the water too.

We did find milk at a convenience store where honestly I buy it there most of the time anyway because I have a milk club card.

Someone else suggested to look at other places like Big Lots for TP, that's a good idea. I saw on a YT video that places like Lowe's and Home Depot are also good places to find TP.

Leonana, let us know how you like your bidet!

This panic buying is insane, I just hope that all of this passes and fairly soon. We are homebodies and don't go out a ton, just to the grocery store, gas station/convenience store and other stores on occasion. I like to visit the library but haven't visited lately as I have lots of books at home to get through. Aside from work those are the only places we go, we have cut down on eating at restaurants. So being at home a lot isn't a huge change. I am fortunate that I can work from home at least part of the time. There were very few people in the office on Friday as HR is allowing everyone to work from home if they want.

I went to Walmart yesterday because they have one of the best gluten-free (GF) sections for my husband. First, I went to get me regular pasta and found the entire section empty except for a couple of boxes of lasagna noodles. I cooked turkey tetrazzini this past week and needed a box. I just stood there, laughed, and then took a picture to send to DH. He asked how the GF section was and I was glad to tell him that GF people hadn't gone nuts yet. They had the stuff he needed.

The sense I had out and about yesteray was that people were just haking their heads at the whole situation. I did see several people in the store yesterday with gloves on. That's actually not a bad idea....

I live in NJ near the state line for Pennsylvania. Some counties in Pennsylvania have ordered for the state run liquor stores to close indefinitely starting March 16th. The casinos there will be closed also. Non essential businesses are supposed to close as well (gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies will remain open)

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...reads/2326784/

My husband remarked that without the casinos, shopping, restaurants only allowing food to be picked up, liquor stores closed and no sports it could get ugly in those areas in PA. I am sure the areas near me will get the shopping overflow, especially the liquor stores! (and right before St. Patrick's Day). We are staying out of Trader Joe's and Wegmans, since the ones near us are the closest ones to the Bucks County, PA line and both places sell alcohol. They will be crazy. We don't have state run liquor stores in our area. I don't even know if that is a thing in NJ? I don't drink at all, so I never paid attention.

I feel terrible for all the people with jobs at those places.

We are pretty well stocked with groceries and toilet paper. I may check a local grocery for one extra carton of eggs, but if they don't have any I will ration what I have left.

I went to Walmart yesterday to pick up a few things, mostly pet food and cat litter. Those shelves were almost empty too! No one seemed in a panic; everyone I encountered was polite. I suppose all the hoarders had come and gone already.

I didn't bother going down the cleaning supplies aisle but I assume they must have recently re-stocked as I saw one woman with 15 or so bottles of Lysol spray in her cart. I just shook my head and tried not to judge - maybe she was shopping for elderly parents or neighbors who can't get out.

Our office gave us the option of working from home the next three weeks so I'll be doing that. I don't have a dedicated office space so will set up at the dining room table. Working on a tiny laptop screen for any length of time is hard on my eyes (learned this from being in meetings etc) so today my son is bringing over an external monitor and keyboard.

I just read that several NBA players are donating money so the hourly staff from their respective arenas can be paid. It brought tears to my eyes. Generosity in the midst of all the craziness.

My husband just missed getting a tub of Clorox wipes. The check out lady told him some jerk came in and bought the entire supply of 24 tubs.

PS My sister saved the day. She was able to get toilet paper and other supplies in Vermont. She’s on her way home to Boston...whoooooohooooo!!
This reminds me of the days when package stores were closed in CT on Sunday, and people used to drive to Massachusetts for liquor. I am so happy you and your mother have TP.

I don't understand why stores don't put limits on items like this. 2 per customer or something like that. With the toilet paper too. Seems like a simple solution. I'm sure some people will just go back several times but it will take a little longer for them to clear out the shelves at least.
