In recent months I've had good luck doing a bit of yoga (or Melt Method) then getting in bed and counting backwards with each relaxing breath. I usually start at twenty, and if I get down to one I start again at forty. Haven't yet had to start over after that, LOL!
ETA: Gave it a try last night. Didn't get very far, kept getting distracted by my thoughts, so I went back to my usual countdown, but it was an interesting experiment. Gotta keep trying. My dreams were interesting, too.
