I really like Hypnotherapy for Deep Sleep by Tom Gale:
https://youtu.be/Wv5t8NDczB0 If you’re experiencing stress, I also highly recommend City of Hope 15 Minute Guided Imagery Meditation Exercise: https://youtu.be/qcdbCphVa1g There are also some very good deep breathing practices on YouTube. Hope this helps! *These all work best with headphones.

I have always had terrible insomnia! I was prescribed Ambien when I was first diagnosed with Graves disease and had a terrible reaction to it. I much prefer taking melatonin but it hasn't been working for me lately, so I take unisom. Lately, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble fall back asleep. It's so frustrating!
What I do is put on an audiobook or podcast with a timer on and hope I fall asleep before the timer goes off. I'm kinda strange because I'm a big fan of true crime, but sometimes it gets to be too much. These are my favorite podcasts: Crime Junkie: https://crimejunkiepodcast.com Mobituaries: https://www.mobituaries.com/the-podcast/ Happier: https://gretchenrubin.com/podcasts/ Family Secrets: https://danishapiro.com/family-secrets/ When I wake up in the middle of the night, I try to find the place I left off and hope I fall back asleep! |

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but I find Natural Calm to be helpful. It's a magnesium powder you add to hot water. I use unflavored, but there are flavored varieties as well. I usually have a cup in the evening. Many people are low in magnesium. It has really helped me. I find when I drink it consistently, I am able to wind down more easily.

My DH sleeps on the couch. It helps his back. So I have the bedroom to myself. I also use Melatonin. We all make less of it as we get older.
