Walmart has 'purse kettlebells' (they're shaped like a purse -kinda):

Maybe that'd be an option for you to try whether you like KBs?
I started out with these and to this day prefer them sometimes over other bulkier ones I have (Cap ones, cement filled -also bought when they were on a super cheap sale).

Thanks Val! I have never heard of these either. Seems like a much more reasonable priced option for starting out. I Walmart for great deals on fitness equipment!

I haven't either until I came across them when strolling through WM! (I always have to go check out their fitness isle! LOL)

Yep, I agree! They have great deals! Even the bulky CAP ones I'd mentioned, back when they're on sale I got the 20# one for 15$!!! (I like using them for swings, whereas the 'purse' ones work better [for me] for regular use like snatch & clean etc.
