'Tough Tape' Question etc.

This workout is now available on DVD - the Fitness Favorites dates it 1993 - my VHS tape (in the original plain white box) says 1995 on the label. It is a compilation of Tortoise and Hare, but FF dates Tortoise and Hare at 1997. Surely these came out before Tough Tape. Did the FIRM hold onto these tapes for a few years before releasing them?

Just some FIRM trivia. I am starting the old FIRM 90 Day Rotation and got out my FIRM VHS tapes - of course I will mainly be using newer workouts but it will be fun to do some of the old FIRM workouts as well.

It was also fun going back and reading reviews of these workouts written 15 year ago, including one by Joni O!

I wonder where Mark Henriksen is these days? It would be fun to ask him about some of the FIRM history.

I have Tortoise & Hare on my "by date" Firm list as 1994.

Don't know if that answers anything - just thought I would share.

Tortoise and Hare definitely came out first because I remember ordering them directly from the Firm. Tough Tape came later, but I'm not exactly sure how much later.

There seems to be some confusion about release dates and production dates in the FIRM records.

Anyway, it was fun doing Tough Tape and More 5-Day Abs Day 2 (Lisa). These workouts seem so straightforward and effective.

It's amazing how many workouts were produced between 1986 and 2000 when Bootcamp 3-in-1 Mix came out. That one is listed as 2002 in the VF list, but some of the reviews are dated 2000. BSS1 came out in 2002, and by then it was a whole different company.

I am deleting this post as it is a duplicate. That keeps happening to me lately.

I'm wondering if the 2002 date on the Bootcamp title refers to the dvd version.

According to the video reviews here at VF, Tortoise came out in 1995. I think the date of Tough Tape being 1993 is just wrong. The first dated review is 1997 and it says it has a white cover. By the time I got my Tough Tape it had a printed cover, so this must have been an earlier printing. Also, Volume 5 was 1991 and they still had Volume 6 to produce before the Cross-Trainers. And didn't the Basics come before the Cross-Trainers?

I seem to remember that someone posted a huge compendium of information about the Firm. It was so long that I didn't print it out. If anyone remembers this, post the link.

Sara, I'm doing a 90-Day Firm Rotation as well. I just started Week 2. It's fun to revisit these workouts. If anyone is a member of the Firm Ya-Yas, there is still a thread in Fitness Chatter with a copy of the original printed rotation that I scanned there.

Hilary, the copy I found in Fitness Chatter the pictures didn't show up. (On that rotation there are pictures that indicate the type of workout for each day.)

I have the version with pictures and a non-updated list of workouts in a Word file. It is too large to post here, but if anyone wants it they could send me their email address in a PM and I could send it as an attachment. It's an old version of Word, but I think the newer version will work with it.

Thanks for posting that list, Bethellen. It IS long!

I'm not sure if this link will work for everyone, but I posted pictures of the rotation as printed in the calendar (1999) in my old blog.
