For a "10 workout challenge", I think it's a good idea to stick with 1 (or 2) workouts. That way you'll quickly learn what weights to use and you'll be able to go as heavy as possible for whatever reps there are, versus when you do random workouts you really aren't sure the first time around how heavy to go. I think I get "better" results with sticking to a few workouts for a few weeks, rather than continually doing "new" ones.

Thank you. I think you’ve convinced me to stick to vol 1, 3 x a week for this challenge. I walk my 3 miles on alternate days. I think I’ll be able to gauge my own progress and see how heavy I could go by the 10th workout. Except for the lunge sequence which always sleighed me!

One thing about the Firm workouts. As you increase the weights you choose, you may not be able to lift at the same pace as they do on screen. You may fall behind. It's something to keep in mind. Volume 6 probably has the slowest pace and the therefore you can lift heavier.

Thank you for the reminder. I am sitting here with pretty ouchy DOMS from vol 1 and didn't go all that heavy. I used no weights for the lunge section. I liked vol6 esp since no lunges, and still have my FIRM barbell without the plates. I did use my db for that workout before I got the barbell.

Ok, so I am going to try vol6 today and see how that goes. After all these years I forgot just how effective these workouts are.

Also, these classics just sparked the love of traditional weights I still have and are getting me to "fall in love again" with these great workouts.

For FIRM workouts, I don't use the same weight for a given exercise. It totally depends on which workout I'm doing.

Well, I did do vol 6 yesterday. I liked it, but all the equipment changes just did not do it for me. Loved the hover squats...what a burn! My workout space is very limited right now...still in renovation mode in the house.
So vol 1 will be the one, maybe I'll throw in vol4 for grins.

I remember someone posting once that Vol 6 uses everything in the house.

Yes, that’s how it felt. Still, a great workout.

So my DD’s, now officially “FIRMIES”, are so encouraging. One told me to do vol 6 since she really liked it and got a good calorie burn.
I wound up doing vol 6 today. A bit fast and tough. I did like it, but vol1 still my favorite.
My hip flexors are feeling good and my joints all feel less squeaky. I guess you can say I’m getting “audible” results.
