Ha, Ha! My birthday is June 15, too! And I've been sitting here thinking, if they come out in two weeks, hope I can order them and have them in time for my birthday!

I am loving Essentrics Strengthen and Stretch and class 2012. How would the new workout compare with these? I do love the outdoor setting but is it sunny?

I love these new workouts. They are similar since they are Sahra. She does different variations on trademarks and has her own way of presenting the workouts. I think that the beach setting is just gorgeous! I am looking forward to getting the dvd on my shelf!

That said, I felt the lower body one was one of the most "toning" Essentrics I have done. I did on the day in-between Yin workouts and it did not feel all that good There is only 10 minutes of standing work on this one, followed by a pretty thorough mat series (she even does some work on all fours, which she has done in class but never on DVD IIRC).

My favorite is the Arms and Posture one. The work doesn't necessarily feel as challenging as some other unweighted work (like TA) but I feel it aligns everything and unlocks tension. For me it's the perfect complement to all the work on all fours/in plank I do with Yin.

I finally tried the Abs one yesterday and thought it was really nice. She only does a couple of minutes of crunches (I never could understand why CS/Essentrics has crunch-based core work) and the rest of the workout involves a lot of twists and lenghtening movement.

HTH!
This is helpful. I don't want to kill myself, but I do find if that the movement is structured in a certain way and has a good flow, the routine tends to be more challenging. For example, in some episodes, Miranda sometimes stops to explain things rather than explaining as she goes. (Then again, sometimes the count gets messed up when she does that!) For me, the best of both worlds is an almost yoga-like sequence where one moves flows into the next. Hopefully this makes sense!

I can't wait for the new DVDs to come out. They sound great. But I am hoping to hold off til the sale but then again season 10 sounds good also.

YES! I know exactly what you mean and this is why I generally don't click with Miranda as much (although she is completely different in a live class). Sarah stops a little to explain the exercises/focus at the beginning of the songs but otherwise I find that the routines flow very well here. This was a problem for me with the barre one - I found it was more choppy in that instructions interrupted the flow at times. I think you will love these

The new workouts seem to move at a good pace. I like their sequencing also. I've done 2/3 and feel worked out at the finish.

Maybe this has been posted elsewhere, but I got an email this morning saying the dvd launch date is June 1st. It's also on the Essentrics Facebook page:
