Too funny.

What was the name of the thing you put on one leg and spun and tried to hop with the other? That one should make a come back, too...

You really could put together a fun class with all sorts of old toys!

The Lemon Twist! I had one, and apparently they still make variations of them:

I recently saw a version at Five Below, and unsuccessfully tried to talk my daughter into getting one. The one I had as a kid was called a Footsie.

I went looking for a Footsie commercial on YouTube, and found this Now is ANYONE about to confess they had one of these? Don't show HSN!!

I bought a Lemon Twist at Target (now called something else and sadly just has a boring ball on the end instead of a lemon.) and have used it as a 10 minute tack-on. It's serious cardio! As hard as running for sure. I have posted about it previously on one of the threads we had about using toys for workouts.

My brother and I are 21 months apart and we always got gifts on each other's birthday (those were the days) so that year for his spring b'day we got these things and Cecil the Seasick Seamonster (http://www.toontracker.com/beanytoon/beanytoons.htm) stuffed animal that you could wrap around your neck. So we tore up the neighborhood on that contraption with Cecil around our necks. That was the best spring ever.

Anybody have any clue what I am describing?

Hi paideiamom,

we have something similar in Germany:

They are used in physical therapy and in PE, so they are quite sturdy.
Not sure if you can get them in the US.

Pulling this thread back up to say that I met Forbes Riley today at the IDEA Conference here in San Diego and she is still trying to sell the silly spin gym - and seems to still be unsuccessful.

I came up to the Jumpsport booth to look at their rebounders, and she grabbed my arm and asked me to put my hand on the upper chest of the Jumpsport guy who was using it . . . he was laughing about it so I did (the fact that he was very good looking didn't hurt, I'll confess) and sure enough you could feel his muscles "firing" (as she put it). She then handed it to me, saying "how old are you?" "51," I said, at which point she flexes her bicep at me and says, "I'm 52 and look!" I didn't really feel like getting into a flexing contest with her so I just tried the darn thing and it was just a useless gadget.

She didn't have a booth, she was just walking around trying to hawk it to who ever would listen to her.

The Jumpsport guy was not impressed - we both agreed that we would never buy it!

Amazing what people come up with! But IMO nothing beats the Shake Weight, lol!

Nothing beats the Shake Weight! And the plus for the Shake Weight is that it's the greatest gag gift and party game ever!
