Hi Everyone,

Today's workouts:

Jenny Ford - Step Across America - # 1 Wyoming
Jane Adams - Yoga for Beginners Core Section

I really do need to add a step workout in at least once a week - it is more intense than my indoor and outdoor walking and I think good for me for cardio health. This was an easy to follow routine - filmed near the Sweet Water River.

Whenever I do Jenny's outdoor workouts I always want to follow up with another outdoor workout which is how I ended up with Jane Adams. I really like her yoga practices. I may buy some more of them - I don't have her Balance & Strength, Yoga for Seniors or Stronger Standing Balance DVDs.

I also now have a yen to travel to the west - DH and I did a fair amount of traveling in the southwest/northwest during the late '90's/early 2000's - seeing the scenery from these workouts makes me want to go again.

I was thinking up a rotation w/ Jenny's workouts and Jane's Yoga.....of course,LOL!

Summer Breeze and Diane - OMG on those dentists! How awful.

Summer Breeze - I hope you have a nice surprise awaiting you!!

waves, everyone!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi everyone!
Another gorgeous day so we took advantage of it. I wish we had more days like this!

Today’s Workout:
  • Jenny Ford Step Class
  • Bad Yogi 5 minute mobility practice
  • 10.51 bike ride
  • Afternoon – Les Mills Stretch & Flex.

Summer Breeze: OMG – that’s so horrible! What is wrong with these people? I had a doctor in San Diego, a GP, who one day ran his hand along my bottom. I turned around and told him if he EVER touches me again, I will break both his arms and stomp his face into a pulp. He was later arrested and convicted of killing his wife! Guess the hippocratic oath didn’t mean much to him! Geezus….

Donna: I love Jenny’s step workouts – easy to follow, you can make them as hard or easy as you like, and she’s just so pleasant. Go out west and take me with you! I miss it so, so much!

Waves to Pat and Pam – hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday!

Good morning!!

Yesterday:

51 minute outdoor walk

After our outing yesterday I took a lovely evening walk with DS. If he wasn't there I know I wouldn't have gone so it was good to have someone there to motivate me. Today is gray and rainy so hopefully I do some indoor workout.

DIANE, oh I see a Jenny Ford day for you and DONNA. Nice. Wow that dr was a total psychopath. I have a couple other creepy dr stories. I try to go to female doctors whenever possible now. Just more comfortable for me. It's scary the loons out there in what should be trustworthy positions.

DONNA, I agree step is a nice way to up the intensity. It is beautiful out west. That would be a lovely trip. How has your DD been? Does she still have the bf? I hope all is well. ETA -- oh my kids took me to a restaurant about a half hour away. They have a winery in the southern part of the state and they do wine and cheese tastings in the more local restaurant. It was so enjoyable and a lovely surprise.

Hi PAT & PAM.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Hey everyone!

We are continuing from last year our bike riding on the Empire State Trail. Today we drove down to the Niverville Trail Head (45 minutes south) and road further down the trail. Very hard as much of this part of the trail is granite dust – kind of like riding your bike on sand! But we forged on and got 13 miles in. We passed several horse farms and then a huge dairy farm, which stunk to high heaven! Poor cows, I wanted to let them run free.

I’m hoping to be able to ride 25 miles in one shot by the end of Fall. I’m taking the rest of the day off and relaxing, watching baseball and then making pizza, my new favorite thing! I can make it healthy (with the help of Hannaford’s ready-made pizza dough!) and load it up with veggies. So much cheaper too!

Summer Breeze: Sometimes we all need a motivator. Jenny Ford is wonderful. I used to teach step so these days I don’t want complicated, I want easy-to-follow workouts that will make me feel worked out. Jenny definitely fits the bill! Our PCP is a guy but he’s wonderful and has never, ever been inappropriate but the rest of my doctors are women, especially my gynecologist! My only encounter was with that San Diego doctor. I wish I could remember his name to look him up. Hopefully he stayed in prison a long time!

Hi to Pat, Donna & Pam! Hope you all had a restful weekend!

Hi Everyone,

Today I got a number of workouts in spread throughout the day:

Jenny Ford - March Across America # 11 - Florida
Jessica Valent - Side to Side Pilates Workout
Short dog walk
Jane Adams Yoga - Yoga For Beginners - Standing Poses & Complete Floor Practice

I think I'm going back to Jessica Smith this week.

I wish Jenny Ford would do "weights across America"!

Summer Breeze -sounds like a nice day topped off with a walk! My DD's BF is still in the picture, I'm not sure how I feel about it - LOL - I have nothing against him, I just wish she had a larger circle of friends (and him, too). But, there is not much I can do about that. She starts her job tomorrow - she is working at a summer camp as an inclusion specialist - so helping kids w/ special needs. I think it will be a good experience for her and keep her busy, too. It is 8 weeks, I believe.

Diane - another Jenny fan here! I think getting her step workouts in regularly will help my cardio endurance. The bike ride and pizza sound great!

Waves, everyone,

Donna

Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday - today, so far:

Jessica Smith - 38 Min Strength Workout - I can't actually remember if this is on the circuit DVD or the strength DVD - that is bad!! I think circuit. To me the strength and circuit DVDs are very similar. I liked this one - it is much like the others - slower paced, focus on posture and core. A fair amount of hip hinging - but I am managing that well - I think the slower pace enables me to focus more on my form.

I don't know what else is in store for today - maybe a stretch or a walk?

Hope everyone has a good Monday!!

I was really tempted to start the new Essentrics Challenge today -but I do want to finish up at least 4 weeks of this rotation before I move on!

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Hi everyone! Happy Moan Day! Sorry to be MIA over the weekend. The dang basement is controlling everything, it seems. I decided to tackle the mold myself, I saw some YT videos using a borax solution. Anyway here's what I did:

Saturday:

~ Basement work;
~ Winsor Dynamic Sculpting Ball 20 minute
~ My own yin backbending practice
~ 5,018 steps

Sunday:

~ Ellen Barrett Cardio Barre
~ Jessica Valant 15 Minutes Pilates for Beginners
~ Beach walk
~ 5,497 steps

Loved Cardio Barre! Nice flow, not too hard and beautiful music.

I'll come back to catch up soon! Have a lovely day ladies.

Hi everyone!

Another nice day albeit humid so we got out early to the park. They’re doing construction to the roads before the summer opening so it’s a pain getting around. Some of my routes are closed off so I had to repeat roads, which I find boring. Thus, my shorter ride today.

Today’s workout:
  • Treadlift Rotation using elliptical – intervals of cardio with squats, lunges and mountain climbers
  • 14 Day Oblique Challenge – side planks, side knee tucks, Russian twists
  • Bike ride while DH ran – 7.78 miles
  • Stretch
  • Afternoon: Pushups, followed by Bad Yogi Practice – Better than a nap

Donna: Step definitely helps with cardio endurance! What I like about it is it also forces my brain to engage – counts, remembering routines, etc. It’s good all around! Sounds like a perfect job for your DD. Sadly, my niece, who I love more than life, has a boyfriend that I don’t care for. He loves her, he treats her well, but he’s not motivated to better himself. He’s always quitting jobs, stating that they “disrespected him”. They live together so they’re always struggling for money and, at one point, lived in their car. She has a very strained relationship with her parents and that’s another story for another day! Ugh….. I’m happy we chose to be childfree because parenting is difficult.

Pat: I’m so sorry about the mold issue but it’s good to nip it in the bud. My husband can also be a hoarder-light so I’m constantly on his back to get rid of stuff, etc. I’m very much of a minimalist so any piles or things out of place drive me crazy. Example – he saves shipping boxes and the innards in case we have to ship anything – we haven’t had to ship anything in I don’t know how long. So, slowly I’m getting rid of all these unnecessary boxes and packing materials. Sigh….

Hi to Summer Breeze and Pam – hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I added on CS 604 - It is interesting to re-visit Season 6. It does move faster than the later seasons of CS. But I guess Miranda WAS younger then, too!

Today was a stretch/cardio day in Jessica's rotation - I didn't feel like doing the walking DVD or the stretching DVD this morning so I did:

Jenny Ford - Step Across America # 2 - Ohio
Jane Adams - Yoga for Beginners - Segment 1 - Breath & Gentle Movement

I will probably do a little something later to energize!

It is very humid here - summer has hit!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning ladies! Yesterday I accomplished:

~ Kassandra Yin Yoga for Hips plus morning affirmations
~ LWR Feel Amazing Challenge W3D4
~ A Body Electric 1200 series workout
~ 4,141 steps

I haven't worked out with Margaret, or any strength workout, in too long! I felt so weak. It was a good way to get back at it, with the workout and the old time music it was an enjoyable way to end the day.

Donna, you're inspiring me to get my Gentle Yoga DVD out. There's a good core routine on there. Weights Across America sounds like a great idea!

Good workouts for you Diane. My DH saves boxes, too. He can't understand why I'm decluttering and sizing down.

Summer Breeze, your evening walk with your DS sounds wonderful.

Good morning to Pam and anyone who visits!
