Happy "Moan" day!

Today's workouts, so far:

Lucy Wyndham Read - 20 Min Cardio (May 28 Day Challenge, Day 1)
Jessica Valent Pilates - Beginner Lower Body Workout # 1
Yoga w/ Bird - 7 Day Yoga Challenge Day # 2

Going to attempt Lucy's 28 day challenge this month - her workouts are simple but I think they are effective and easy to add on to since they tend to be short.

Jessica V is doing a 3 week "strong" challenge which I'm going to throw into the mix as well. Today was just a basic lower body routine - squats, lunges, deadlifts and step ups - 2 sets of each.

Yoga w/ Bird was a nice way to end it this morning.

Planning for a walk and/or Essentrics later.

I was considering cancelling my ETV subscription for now and just focusing on the CS DVDs I have at home. I do love the Live workouts, but I'm focusing on other workouts right now and the length of time of a CS episode is perfect for an add on.

My friend tested negative for COVID but her DH tested positive - they have the same symptoms so I'm thinking that one of those tests is wrong. The worst part is her DH is undergoing cancer treatments, so it is not good for him to be sick w/ COVID particularly since they have to suspend his treatment.

Hopefully he'll get better quickly, they are giving him the antiviral and she says he just feels like he has a bad head cold.

UGH!

On that note...hope everyone has an uneventful Monday.

I did a stretch yesterday, WS3 15 Minute Total Body. It hit the spot, I'm really sore in the shoulders and neck. I called the TMJ office for another adjustment of my mouth guard, most likely I need a new one. I think it can't be adjusted anymore. But the doctor is out this week, so my appointment is in three weeks. They also told me to not use the mouth guard. I guess I'll have to use an OTC mouth guard for now. I did call the other TMJ doctor that has great Yelp reviews, and have an appointment in four months. That shows how popular she must be! They will call if there is a cancellation, so maybe I can get in earlier. So, I guess I'm stuck with the old TMJ doctor. But I thought I would get on their schedule in case I need a second opinion.

Donna, I'm sorry to hear about your friend's husband. It sounds good that it's just a cold, he should be over it soon. I would bet your friend is positive, sometimes it takes a few days for the virus to show up on a home test.

Pam, the high is in the low to mid-90's at the moment, so not too bad in the morning. It's still cool in the evenings and mornings. Of course, that won't last long.

Hi everyone,
I didn't do any workouts over the weekend, but I did a long walk both days. The weather is perfect.

Today I continued with the Spring Ahead rotation and did Metabolism Booster - Upper body. Loved it. I'm using 3 pounds, but it felt like enough.

Donna, sorry to hear about your friend's DH. It seems like there is a good chance of false positives and false negatives. It doesn't help with navigating everything.

I am traveling back east for Memorial Day and I'm going to plan to get my 4th shot a week or so before I go. I got pretty sick on the booster and 2nd shot, and I'm not looking forward to it, but I figure that would make sense.

Happy Monday everyone!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did end up getting outside to walk my Golden and I did CS 1303.

Today, so far, has been:

Kathy Smith - Step Workout - from 1992 - 30 YEARS AGO! Where does the time go?

Yoga w/ Bird - 7 Day Challenge Day # 3

Liz - I enjoyed that one from Jessica, too! I think that makes sense about the booster, that is the way I would use it - kind of as a booster for a special trip/event. I got sick from shot # 2 and booster # 1 so I think I'm going to hold off for no on booster # 2. I figure there will be more coming in the fall anyway....

Sherry - it is so hard to get in to see Dr's these days, good you made an appointment, you can always cancel it!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Well, the OTC mouth guard won't work, it is too flimsy for my grinding. I'll have to use the professional one, but jury rig it so it's not too tight on my front teeth. I had a lot done to my mouth last week, and irritated it yesterday with the boil and bit fitting of the OTC mouth guard. I'm hoping it calms down this week. I'm pretty sure it will, and the pain will lessen.

Donna, that is so true about doctors and wait times. I guess that's a good sign that this doctor is pretty good, with such a long wait time. There aren't a lot of TMJ doctors in the area, compared to the population. Phoenix is 1.6 million, and with the metro area (I'm east of Phoenix) it's almost 5 million.

Hi Ladies,

Monday I did a TM hike in Scotland with Graham McTavish. Hadn't updated the software for the new May workouts, so they didn't load when I tried to play them from the screen. Rain all day long! Blech.

Today, I had a hike in Wrentham, MA with a large group of women! Didn't know if hike would be cancelled, but it went on, despite it raining the night before. Was only about 50 degrees when we began, but once you're walking it warmed up.

I thought I might have caught a cold this past weekend. I think I was just overly tired but still haven't felt great. Pretty low energy.

Hi Everyone,

I have just been busy, busy with work....ugh and we are going to start renovations on our bathrooms soon so I have been picking tile, etc. They are doing one at a time and I think there will be several weeks in between so that is good - I'll at least get a break, lol!

Anyway....

Today's workout was:

Kathy Smith - Ageless Staying Strong: Upper Body & Glutes - this is a really nice routine. 15 min of each. The Upper Body focused some on posture and keeping your upper back strong. Glutes was mainly floorwork but ended w/ some lunges and deadlifts.

Lucy W-R - May Challenge Day # 3- which was standing core

Yoga w/ Bird - 7 Day Challenge Day # 4

I did more than I expected I would given that I woke up feeling less than energized.

It is hard for me to stick with one instructor, one genre for very long!

Although I do feel a Kathy Smith kick coming on!

Hope everyone has a good day!!!

Hi Ladies,

On the TM today I did a hike with Alex Gregory in Snowdonia, Wales and an endurance walk along the beach in Aruba with Stacie Clark for the start of the Women's Power Challenge.

Another rainy day here and I shouldn't complain. It sure greens up the grass and cleans up the air!

Have a good day everyone!

PS. Donna, Kathy Smith is such a legend in the fitness world. I remember her workouts well!

Testing. I'm getting the 500 error, and my post isn't posting. Maybe it's because it's longer text.

Well, I’m realizing I might need to see a regular doctor for pain relief. I have an appointment with an NP at my GP’s office. At least I can have a yearly checkup with blood and urine test.

I don’t want to go back to TMJ specialist. Their mouth guard never fits right and causes me pain. The doctor doesn’t seem to listen to me, just tells me I need another mouth guard for the bottom. So I have an appointment with dentist I like on Friday to see if he can make a mouth guard for me. He might refuse, as my case is complicated. But if so, there’s another dentist’s office I can try.

I also have an ultrasound for my heart in a week or so. If all is well with my heart, that will be a relief. I guess one positive is that this has made me make appointments I needed to make.

Hopeful I can do a short yoga practice today. I’m currently sitting in the park. It’s 88, but comfortable in the shade with a breeze blowing. Pretty soon I’ll have to think of something else, something air conditioned!
